Haven't heard anything on a cause yet, but every single time, and I mean like EVERY fucking time we get low humidity and high winds every news channel is spouting off about "High fire danger" complete with graphics and explanations how bad a fire would be in these conditions. I swear to god it's like they're ringing the dinner bell for arsons. Every time I see that we're like "STFU about it"  "They know already there's no point in advertising it". After watching the news last night I swear some of the reporters are glad there's fires. They seem more excited than sad. Kind of sick actually.

Edit: One of the guys that works for Me's Dad takes care of boats in DP harbor. He said last night there were sustained winds of 65 mph. With stronger gusts.  Obviously not a problem in the grand scheme of things but holy shit the swimming pools are destroyed. Those poor guys are working sun up to sun down. I'll be digging into the reserves for overtime/bonuses this week.

Our Bajamoto collective that you know fairly well is made up of quite a few fire dept management folks from The Bu(literally called Malibu Dan 😂)…Glendale…L.A. city and county…Cal-Fire…captains…battalion level, etc. and even a heavy equip systems management specialist (HUGE equip)..etc. the shit they were talking about yesterday…yet to be confirmed by investigators…was unfucking believable…yet, in this day and age…

Believable.

Let’s see what the story is after it’s all said and done. Right now it’s what I’d simply call “just rumors”

Wow ! And how about the second reel with the horses ? How no one hasn't punched those reporters square in the face I have no idea. Meanwhile down here we have super rich assholes calling us to come and reclean their pools we cleaned yesterday because "They're still dirty" all the while there's literally leaves and debris flying into the pool while we're there. Unfucking believable

I don't know that I'd punch a reporter, but I'd tell them to fuck off if they're getting in my way of accomplishing something.

I get they have a job to do, but the place is literally burning down around them. Pack your shit, help someone, and GTFO.

The answer is "Yes"....people are that stupid.     Usually with that kind of heat, the windows shatter.

There is a reason for the evacuation calls.    You GTFO.

Best to have a go bag with anything that is important....everything else is replaceable.

Yep, a “Go” bag so to speak. That is insane that he’s taping from inside his house with the flames that close. Holy crap.

It looks like a bunch of water comes down at the very last second. There may be more going on that what it looks like, but obviously they should have left long before it got that point, if they could.

I don't understand staying there and recording. Views? Likes and attention?

I understand wanting to stay as long as you can to try and save the place and as much things as possible, but sooner or later it's past the point of no return and you need to leave.

It sucks, but material things are replaceable. Lives aren't.

That guy is insane and I have no idea how he is so calm. I would be out of there soon as I had an idea it even may get to me. Get the dogs. A bag of clothes and valuables and get the fuck out.

Even though you’re a peckerhead, I hope you and your peckerhead friends stay safe.

Seriously, arguing back and forth on here is one thing, but this is a horrible situation. I truly hope you guys and gals stay safe and don’t lose anything.

I remember years ago asshole Jamie Lee Curtis was badmouthing people for living out in rural areas after their houses all burned down.      Like everyone can afford to live on the beach you entitled, out of touch libtard.

I wonder if she'll open her stupid mouth about all the glitterati who lost homes  along the beach....

We need to put the right people in office first and they'll focus on taking care of us instead of spending billions on "them" like the current governor and mayor...the fire department spent millions recently on DEI's to the point my fire fighter buddy was watching them on live news today saying "he is using the wrong nozzle!".  Two minutes later you see the DEI changing the nozzle on live news. Yes, this actually happened.  Our fire departments lost a ton of talent as a result of this DEI bullshit as many qualified guys were pushed out, and we also lost a ton of great guys who were let go for refusing the shot.

There were so many epic failures in LA for these fires by the great blue politicians in place.  No fucking water?? Can you believe that?  We spend billions shipping illegals into LA and housing them, but we can't build an infrastructure to protect our own people.  Maybe some people will wakeup like Adam says here.  Watch the vidoe for some insight as to what's going on in LA with our politicians and bureaucrats.  He is 1000% spot on.  I've dealt with the same bullshit in building my house.  F*ck them all:

Should have seen my pool after the fires of 2003. I live off the 15 and 210. It was a complete cluster fuck. I felt like just burying it and this was jsut a month after it was built.

For a little more context about our fire department situation.  A couple years ago a gay woman was assigned to be chief of the LA fire department.  I have nothing against a gay woman, but was she really the most qualified person for the job?  Or was she put in place because she is a gay female?  We all know the answer to that as are seeing it happen everywhere. Well, she was elevated to her position, she started focusing on spending millions on diversity (hiring gays, transgenders, women, minorities) to make the fire department more "diverse", instead of focusing funds to the actual important things fire departments are supposed to do like prepare/protect our communities from very predictable winds/fires here in LA.  I'm pretty connected with many of the core/veteran fire fighters from back in the day when their jobs weren't threatened by someone who has blue hair and doesn't know which sex they are.  Most of these very solid guys with years of experience were pushed out, and as a result we are seeing our "fire fighters" use the wrong nozzle on live news.

Meanwhile, our great mayor Karen Bass cut millions in funding for our fire department to spend it on the homeless and illegal immigrants.  "Defund the Fire Department" just like the "Defund the Police" movement we witnessed not too long ago.

Great stuff huh?  A couple great DEI's doing great things for "us" right?  So now we are completely understaffed and now under-qualified because they are more worried about putting diversity hires in place and defunding the police/fire department instead of focusing on protecting the taxpayers.

It's enraging, is what it is.

The recent New Orleans tragedy being another example of meritocracy being tossed aside for the almighty diversity programs.

We expect better from the multiple layers of local, state, and federal governments that we pay a large percentage of our income, sales, and property taxes to.

Not to mention taxes on businesses that get passed through to the consumer.

Failure to ensure the security of American citizens is what we get, when it's all said and done.

Over, and over again.
