Hello everyone, my name is Josh Clark. I raced 250 west SX this year and made 2 main events before breaking my back at Anaheim. Currently I recovered from my injury and have been racing the 450 nationals. Right now I'm in Kentucky training for Millville and the rest of the nationals. So far this season I've exceeded my goals and have been very close to the top 15, getting stronger at every race.

But being a full blown privateer our funds are rapidly getting low. So I'm writing this not as a beg for money, but more looking for support / advise in anyway. What I'm looking for is someone that is going from Millville to Washougal that I can throw my bike in with. We are open for any suggestions on ideas for me making it to Washougal.....

My dream since I first started riding was to earn a 2 digit national number and this year I think I can get it. As of right now I've earned 7 national points. Unadilla and Southwick will be my strongest races and I believe I can run in the top ten with a good start.

So if anyone knows of another rider going, or has any suggestions on how I could get there please let me know. Right now there is no way I can afford making it to Washougal but want more than anything to be able to race it. I plan on racing all the rest and our budget is set for me to be able to make them, except for Pala.

If there is anyone out there that can offer some advise for me obtaining some support or transportation for my bike I'd greatly appreciate it. Washougal is a long way from home (CT) but I'm determined to make it anyway I can.

Thanks for your support!

Yes I rode for Warthog for SX and right now that seems like my only option. Only problem is we wanted to get the bike home to freshen it up before Unadilla. But right now I will take any offer.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

I was thinking the same thing when I was reading it, but because It is well-written with both good grammar and punctuation. So if anything I think Newmann was inquiring due to the fact that not many MXer's would be able to be so well spoken, and it might be fishy that it is a little TOO polished? Thats just my outside-looking-in take on it.

Good luck Josh, I'll be looking out for ya at shougal

Comes across as an intelligent and respectful person. I've always told my kids to "pay attention in school", and it appears someone else shares my viewpoint. All too often people show up here typing in text and incoherent mumble. Just refreshing to see someone out there trying to put things together in the mx world while maintaining a sense of reality. Who knows, maybe he even read the Vital Posting Rules!!

Scott Champion showed up about this time last year and came across in the same manner. Good kid, trying to make a go of it and keeping a smile on his face even when things weren't going so well. A lot of people were quick to give him a kick in the nuts for showing up here looking for help but some of us don't mind helping out a little when and where we can.

Josh could probably even make a little side money working for Tony writing up the Alessi weekly.....

That's all.

HA!....Good point Newmann! Some of the other riders that have come on here have the grammar skills just like you explained. Josh seems he paid attention in school , so good for him. Getting inside the top 10-15 at a national isn't to shabby either.........kids got skills!

Entry fee is $200 (per event) this year. (for either class). Plus you no longer receive a free guest pass per entry.

I hear what you mean by that. It makes riders look stupid if they can't write correctly. Unfortunately, I proofed this for Josh before he hit the submit key. Josh may not have excellent grammar or writing skills, but he makes up for it with his determination and focus. If you ask anyone that has trained with Josh they will all tell you he trains very very hard. One of the best things about him is that he is a clean cut straight edge kid. There is no chance in hell that he will get caught up in drugs or alcohol. He's one of the most determined riders that I've ever come across. He's wants this 2 digit number more than anyone I've ever meet!

Well at least he went about it in a manner that got him recognized and not ridiculed. As long as he understands the importance of that, I'll throw a little something his way. Do you have a paypal address for him?

Newman you rock. This isn't the first time I've seen you help someone out and I'm sure it won't be the last. Guys like you are why I love being involved with and around people in this sport. I know you don't do it to hear this but you're a good dude. I just wish I had the means to do the same for josh or anyone for that matter right now. Good luck in your quest Josh and I'll be hanging over the fence at Washougal rooting for you.

Very happy to see you guys are contributing to Josh's quest of obtaining a 2 digit number. A lot of people say that support privateers and say they are going to do this and that but never do.

You should be proud of yourself for helping Josh, he's a great kid!

Thanks it really does make a difference!
