Devils Drop @ Carlbad...
Magoo Sailing down the 1st turn drop at Saddleback...

Now, those were "Drop-Offs"...

Really, some of the folks in here need to give it up and take up Croquet.

Btw, I'm thinkin' that a lot of you haven't raced a WORCS, SCORE or BITD race...and...you proll'y shouldn't.

I'm jus' sayin'...

LOL justmx is right but ya know this thread did better than that. talking about how cool the event is wouldn't generate 5 pages of interaction.

how ever this did.

just wait, we will bring this up again next june...........and maybe it will bring in another 500 spectators, or better yet 100 more amatuer racers?

We need to showcase the sponsors or they will not be sponsors. It would be a great if they could just go race but sponsors are needed to foot the bill.

The issues were not race related - GL8 fell when looking back on parade lap, his error and he should know better and Doc should not have been on the track and at the least benn paying attention. Even when someone on the radio was warning him.

So what to do - put a small access way to the road next to the track for those who need it - first lap of practice, parade lap, racer not going all out, track workers or whoever. Review in riders meeting and should be good to go.

There is a road on both sides of the ski jump drop off.

The one on the right is wide enough for mules, ATV's and dozers. It is also the exit of the pro mechanics area.

The on on the left is the one that the water trucks run on.

The drop off in the bowl turn has a water truck road on the right hand side.

The mule did not run off the drop off because there wasn't another way to get around the track.

At Hangtown one of the Woman racaers hit a neutral going off the drop and went over the bars real hard. She should have known better than that though right?

Absolutely hilarious. If a pro can't handle a 5-6 foot drop on a course they have practiced, they shouldn't be out there. As for Doc, this is another case of BEING AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, people need to pay attention. Hope he was ok though. I race downhill mountain bikes, and we have much bigger drops on our tracks, haha. Groms are even are hitting them and they are way bigger, rocky and have gnar landings. Man-up and accept something "new" or go race flat track.

Exactly my point......hey dipshits we aren't talking about ANY riders ability to do the drop off nor the am's ability to do them they just neeed to be slightly angled to be rollable THAT IS THE PROBLEM.......Comparing the drop off to Larocco's Leap Is just stupit ...apples to oranges.

Some of you "Core" people just dont see the danger potential here.....oh well leave them in so we aren't labeled pussies and ill just sit back and wait for something out of the blue to happen where a rider gets seriously injured when something happens and the drop off needs to be rolled and say the bike lands on them ..... we all know slow speed crashes can be sometimes more dangerous than high speed one's.

I dont want to see any rider getting injured at all but this is something that can be easily mitigated where there is uneccesary risk....just angle the backside a little....not that big of a deal. Stop looking at it so closed minded. This is the third thread about this lately and I said something about this last year too.....eventually something will happen, hopefully its not done to a rider in the points chase for the title then you all will be screaming for DC's head.

She could have hit neutral going off of a double too or into a fast corner or or or or the what if's are endless.

F' em' 78. Those folks deserve to die for making a mistake.

Even if it's a simple fix. They should PAY for their mistake, possibly be disabled or even die. It's tough sport.
