Anyone else having a problem with the front brake adjustment? Just got a 25 and can only have front brake lever adjusted almost to the max, unless i want it to be too loose and back all the way out while riding, which is what happened to me. Any way to fix that jalopyness? Also, has anyone experienced any knocking on the stock map? I swear that what it was but maybe it was chain rattle, I couldn't really tell.

I run the Ride engineering bar mount with the stock clamp. I have not noticed any change per say as they are still rubber mounted. I like the fact that my bars don’t get twisted up now.

What cones are you using? And I must hit the ground harder because I seem to bend the posts very easily

Stock rubber ones.

This is the hot ticket.  The Ride clamps prevent the bars from twisting when you fall and still allow you to benefit from the vibration and shock absorption of the stock rubber grommets.

Did you clean the crap off the disc and give it a bleed? - I had to do both.

Also it's probably chain rattle, mine sounded terrifying exiting corners in third, me coming off much louder bikes with more quiet chains. It either stopped or I'm used to it now.

Alot of that chain-line/drive rattle can be eliminated going to a sealed upper chain roller. Now that the bottom is fixed, the upper is more noticeable. With time, the noise will get worse and worse with the stocker…

My issue is with the adjustment knob on the front brake. I have to keep it all the way in or it backs out and makes the lever go to the bars to get the same engagement. Basically how far away the lever is from the grip. It's some stupid clicker thing that was designed by someone who thought they were smarter than they really were.

Is kawi still doing the big rebates with the 25’s? If so when do they usually do them.

Anyone add a kickstand to their non X? Thinking of doing a couple off road races next year with Lemans style starts so I'll need something

Blue locktite is your friend

These bikes knock or ping on pump gas specially when under load, I’ve gone to a 95-98 octane race gas eliminates the issue, deep sand tracks you’ll really notice it

I've never seen this happen on multiple brembo levers on many bikes.    The adjustment knob should have a small wave washer type thing that makes the clicks and keeps tension on it to prevent backing out.   Almost sounds like maybe your washer is missing or something isn't quite right there.

Another thought - maybe your hand is actually rubbing the adjuster wheel and loosening it as you ride.  Maybe moving the master cylinder further inboard on the handlebars will prevent this.

But the adjustment knob uses a clicker type adjustment. Blue lock tight isn't really going to fix that. Is mine defective? Or does everyone just run their front brake lever all the way out?

Has anyone checked the TPS setting on these bikes? I had the 16 and 18 kx that came not adjusted correctly from the factory, is this the same deal? These bikes should not be knocking on high octane pump gas.

I understand, is there a way someone can post a picture of thiers being adjusted out? I have that wave thing but it's not big enough to keep pressure on the tabs of the adjuster. Like it was completely crushed from the factory, the adjuster was tight when I go lt the bike from the dealer. Is this the same mc that is on the current ktms? I will have to get a new part.

I missed the last part, but no. I only get two clicks of adjustment from full tight before if gets so loose it just backs out. Pic for reference.1000010046 0.jpg?VersionId=8CoASeapcM64fyvmCSoJ3WYVhwcJe

The bike benefits from higher Octane fuel. The VP Madditive with 91 non ethanol eliminated any knocking for me.

Yeah all this knocking/detonation issues are weird. I’ve only ever ran 91 in my bikes and have never had an issue. The kawis do have extra engine noise but I wouldn’t consider that knocking.

Yeah same comment I wanted to add. I’ve never felt or heard anything strange. I have full yosh and airbox opened up a bit.  Run Wawa 93 gas station fuel.

Yall had me looking up vp fuels but I’ve never had an issue so seems worthless.

$20 a gallon for race fuel is insanity lol.

Yea, people complain about bikes being so expensive then get hard peepees over buying race fuel for stock bikes.

I'm not saying that maybe this bike doesn't need it, but it's definitely not my first answer to a problem. Especially with no searching for issues causing it.

Yeah your adjuster looks defective.   That large gap should not be in there.  You should have clicks all the way out and be able to run it at any setting.

I put the slightest amount of 110 with 93 to stop the detonation. If it didn't detonate I'd just run 93.

Not a bad idea. I jinx myself when I told Afterbar I wasn't getting wear on the lower chain roller/slider.

This.  No matter what bike it is, I mix 1 gallon of 110 VP I get from the pump with 2 gallons of 93 octane.  Cuts down on ethanol and it is cheap insurance.  I pay less than $10 a gallon for the VP 110 from the pump.  I keep a couple old VP metal cans that I refill at the pump.

I fixed the problem with the adjuster, by putting so much loctite on it I better be happy with the position. Because I can't move it without pliers. I am checking to see if I have my old TPS wire tool so I can get a good reading on the TPS and see if it is set correctly or not. I am assuming .58 to .62 like the old bikes but will see what the base number is. I had to set my old 16 kx450 and 20 crf450 a slightly but higher and the result were good. Instead of noise the bikes actually pulled from down low.

I know this is a retarded question.. I want KYB forks and recently found a new set of 23 rmz250 forks for cheap. Minus the lugs does anyone know if the measurements line up ?

What upper chain roller are you using?  I wear earplugs when I ride, so I haven’t noticed any noise.

Moose: 1231-0220….Know the PN by heart having ordered so many since 2019!

That’s a good Keefer email question: He or AK47 may have a 24’ (or older) KX250 with KYB’s and can compare with a media RM-Z250…
