Our neighbour had this 1986 peewee, in really bad shape, with a seized 60cc barrel and head, extended forks and extended rear shock, welded onto the frame. He gave it to my son, for my 3 year old grandson. We stripped it down and brought it back, to almost stock, for this past Christmas. The front forks and triple clamp are aftermarket, because I remembered how my son used to break those regularly. Believe it or not, we bent the back rim when putting on the new tyre !! All paint work on the bike is Cerakote. We need to sort the throttle out, as it keeps sticking. This has made us wary, not to let him ride it yet.

I'm assuming this is your kid, or at least someone you know. What is the little vest/padding he is wearing?

Reviving thread.

Joined the group today. I’m early as our daughter is only 2 but she seems to like a great complement to our new 50 that my parents won at Donnell’s! It’ll get some use with my niece and nephew prior to her so it should be good for her to be on a PW50 to join them.

She even got a few braaap braaaps when we started it.

*For the record bike was not on or started yet in the photo.

Lower final gears from a QT50 moped makes them a bit quicker up to speed…

Id think those gears should be easier to come by since they became banned

Our 2.5yo's PW50. Just waiting for her to show a bit more interest overall before getting her on the PW.

The pw50 we bought new for my 37 year old son has had my 35 year old daughter, 26 year old son and now my 6 year old granddaughter learn on it. With the longer Huffman shock and 60 forks, it has been rock solid for years. It still has the stock piston and rings and sounds like it's ready to fly out. Have a 60cc kit ready to quiet it down. Can't wait for my 4 year old granddaughter to be the next.

Built this thing for my daughters 4th birthday it didn’t run and was missing parts.  I framed it and went through the whole thing  put a new top end in and a new carburetor and cleaned the piss out of it.  Rebuilt the forks and brakes, new tires and plastics and seat.  Thing starts up first kick now and she loves it.  For months and months I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and all she kept saying was “daddy I want a purple dirtbike for my birthday”  to say she loved it when she first saw it is a understatement.  I live in upstate NY so she’s only ridden it a couple times but she asks every day.  Can't wait for spring so she can actually ride it more and start racing it.
