SG10s are fine, IMO.
I am on my second pair. I wore the first pair three years and they still looked good enough that they easily sold on Ebay.
That said, you can still hurt your feet and toes if the impact is bad enough.

buy Sidi, good quality and you can change worn pieces.
Very good to break in and nice feel.

I've got the 12's and they are freakin comfy. Never even had to go through that break-in period. They are that good. If I ever wear these out, I'll be buying another pair for sure.

Compared to SG12's, everything else is weak, real weak. Nothing else even comes close to them. Gaernes are so much better its ridiculous. Try em out and you will see very quickly. Sure lots of guys say the boots they have are great, but thats because they haven't tried a pair of Gaernes.

I love mine. I had 10's before. The 12's are better, but I paid 425 for mine and the 10's were only a few dollars cheaper. I would just get the 10's unless you get a good deal like I did. I would take the 10's over paying close to 600 dollars for sure.

Gaernes are so comfortable. If I wasn't looking the first time I tried on my SG10s I would of thought I had just slipped my foot into one of these...

Yes! They run big so definitely try them on with your riding socks before purchase.

SG10's are nice.
SG12's are in a different league, and worth the money.
I've used both.

I am on my second set of SG10s, haven't tried the 12s but the 10s are the best boots i have ever owned, and i've owned quite a few brands over the years...

SG 12s are the best boot out there, had tech 6,7,8 and 10s. all pale in comparison to SG 12s! only complaint is you need to keep an eye on the screws as they tend to work themselves loose.

If you have a local distributor I would give the Jett's a try, lightest boot out, very comfortable, and no break in time. Gaerne's would be my second pick, great boot, just feel bulky compared to the Jett's.

Chase, have you ever worn SG12's while riding?

Your comments are the exact opposite of those that have gotten a pair.

I've not tried the Jett boots, so have no personal comparison.

SG-12s are great boots, but I do not think they are worth that much more than the SG-10. The SG-10 has that memory foam shit around the ankle and everything, they are more comfortable than every other boots I own, even my snow boots !!!...The SG-12 is a little better, but not $150 better.

Tried SG10 and they didnt fit me very well, so went back to Tech 10. Decided to try the SG12 this summer and sold my Tech 10 right away. By far the best boot i've ever purchased. No break-in and simple buckles that work.

No boot is worth over $200. You are getting a dry anal raping paying more. Gotta love this industry.

I blew my ankle up yesterday wearing SG10, they're comfortable for sure but I always thought they didn't offer as much resistance to hyper-extension of my foot, either up or down, as my Tech 8's.

I came up a little short and can't tell if I may have rolled my ankle but my hinge deal now has about an inch of slop in it at the screws so maybe there was some sideways movement and they saved me from more damage after all. I'll have plenty of time to research new boots now.

Extra $150 doesn't look so bad when you can't walk, or work.

I learned my lesson the hard way on buying premium boots. Since I blew my ankle out I've had Sidi, Gaerne and have tried A-stars. I really like the Gaerne the best (SG10) but would not hesitate to buy the Sidi again either. I don't care for the A-stars, not that there is anything wrong with them they just don't fit my feet well.

Its hard to say, I have both, blew my ankle with the 12's on the second use, but i over jumped, so I dont think the boot has nothing to do with it. It feels a bit bigger in the same number and more plush in the sole than the 10's.

The sole is almost gone though, so Iam in the dilema of another SG12 or just a 10! The 12 is winning so far!

I have never tried the SG12s, but I have the SG10s and they are great

Try the TCX PRO, great boots a little less money, they have a new model coming out in sept 10, so got killer deals on leftovers. But the tech 10 s and gaerne, sidis are great products.

X2

My son has worn A-Stars, Sidi and Gaerne and won't wear anything but the Gaerne's now.
Has been wearing them for 5 years, right now he is wearing the SG-10's we will probably get the 12's next.
