I think they're a "suggestion".

Personally, I'd like to suggest they disappear. They're a PITA for photographers, and are nothing that a few well-placed mounds of dirt couldn't replace. Smile

Yep, i'm suprised they are still using them. In that one left hander under the trees, they were cutting it 3 feet inside them. Well, what was left of them.

I'm with you GuyB.

BTW I was told years ago foam protectors for the wooden stakes were too time consuming to install and remove even though there is a real safety issue involved.

Fast forward five or six years and now there is time to pound in and remove those meaningless Acerbis markers at every National. Go figure.
