Man I love pulp but that episode was hard to listen to.
How come?
I usually listen to pulp on bicycle rides. It is sometimes hard to mentally tune back into the guests after getting a bit numb from the necessary ads, but I understand paying the bills. Still a great listen overall and fills in the blanks on rides.

Thanks for the discussion, ML and I were talking the other day and he mentioned this...mostly it's never good when you're on here but this wasn't too bad! LOL, I get it- we do have lots of partners..someone added it up a year ago or so and out of five hours, including the 22 min commercial, the ad reads were total 45 min. So that means 4 hours, 15 minutes of moto talk. Not too shabby?
This show here, like others have said I mentioned it would be Renthal heavy, they launched that grip and chose us to be the world wide launch point which was cool IMO. There's not much going on in the sport at this time, I wouldn't do this in the race season so I said sure. Payton and MC were great though! Love to hear the stories. That was one of the first ones in a while I listened to the whole thing, like you said there’s not much action right now so I was just happy to have something current moto related. All the old mc stories and his mindset and training was sick, I was cracking up at the grip install race, Paul was really bummed about his sweaty palms from the nerves lol.
Would you rather see more Matthes memorial bowl corner nets or 90-2000 whoops make a return?

Not sure if I'm cynical after watching Supercross for 35 years, but do you think the powers that be at Feld will ever look at making changes to supercross? It's just the same thing year after year in terms of track design (actually it's getting worse with the 9 whoops and no dragons-back), lack of dirt, the same jumps and format and in my opinion it's stale. Right now everyone on this forum is probably fired up for A1 but if Jett goes on the run I expect him to it's going to be the same old thing a few rounds in. You have hinted about wanting to see a superpole, do you think they will make any changes moving forward?

Listening to your podcasts this year I became familiar with the track design terms of "3 foot and 5 foot jumps". You paint a picture of the tracks all having the same ingredients...and THUS...you also say that they should eliminate free practice as it is a waste of time. Obviously its a waste of time as every factory pro has the 3 foot/5 foot timing down.
Why can't they get away from the 3 foot/5 foot formula and ,make a drunk track? Get CREATIVE! To hell with flow, experiment! Make the riders uncomfortable!

At what point will you do a deeper dive and ask the viability of the KTM's USA racing operation? You said on one of your recent podcasts that you thought Sexton would sign with Kawi next year. Is this because KTM is a risky employer or ongoing problems Chase has with the bike?

I think you’re taking the joke on the show a little too literally man.
I’m sure Marx is very fairly compensated, he wouldn’t stick around with his already well paying job he has if it wasn’t worth his while. Also he gets a cut from pulp fantasy I’m pretty sure along with the other collaborators when it launched.
Lastly the perks alone of the job are huge im sure and it sounds like he’s made good friends along the way. If I have a well paying gig already and am a fan of the sport and Steve I’m fucking psyched I’m not so much worried about the money.

How much prep goes into each Pulp show? What does your week look like to get all you need prepared for the show i.e. guest lineup, topics, etc?
