And now, miraculously the long-lost absentee father has stepped out of the shadows to grieve upon a son he has never known.  With tears in his eyes, he is still able to keep himself composed enough to cast blame on all the people who has failed his son that resulted in his untimely death.  Bravely, valiantly, and with the blessing of the Rev. Al Sharpton he has pledged to sue Mr. Penny for robbing him of the cherished memories he's shared with his son and the memories he will never have.          

You can set a watch to this happening....

I stay away from Minneapolis also.  Changed so much since George Floyd. 

It seems weird that lots of folks will cheer when a wealthy guy walks up behind a man they've never met and shoots him dead on the street, then get ready to protest when someone else subdues a crazy person who is terrorizing a subway car full of people and accidentally causes his death.

the strange thing to me is, how were they divided on manslaughter , but all acquit on the lessor charge, 

There are many possibilities. 2 of which are...

1: Someone needed to get back to work and aquiesced. 

2: Someone realized that this guy may have saved lives.

Nailed it. Having served on jury duty I can tell you that number one happens a frightfully large amount of the time. So crazy.

I was on Figueroa in LA a few times last year. Quite a shock for a country fells like myself!

I don't know enough about the time before the video of this incident to have a solid opinion on it, to be honest.  It doesn't seem like Jordan Neely did anything that rose to the level of having deadly force used, but it's difficult to know for sure what a reasonable person would be feeling about the threat level felt by those present.  

It sounds like a jury deemed that there must have been enough of a threat to use deadly force.  They saw a lot more actual evidence than I have, of course, so I'll take their word for it right now.  It's just a shame, though, that someone had to die like this when it might not have been necessary.  I hope that Mr. Penny really feels the way he claims, that Neely was a threat to kill someone, or else he may have a lifetime of guilt ahead of him.  

Like in the thread where the healthcare CEO was killed, it'd sickening to see anyone celebrate this type of killing.  If Neely was pointing a gun or waiving a knife at someone it would be a completely different issue, at least to me.  This one just sucks for everyone involved, but it's better to assume that Penny was innocent than to convict him simply based on emotion.  

Penny is a hero. End of story.
