Looks like Gypsy is alluding to him going to Star...
IT's crazy right. The guy was riding amazing. One of the reasons he is retired is because of freak crashes..That hurt.
I am typically a Savatgy fan, but was disappointed to see his body language and hear his tone when being interviewed after the final main. As someone who has followed AusSX for a long time, it was quite disheartening to see him basically shrug off the title in the moment. He may have lost the battle, but he won the war. Celebrate the fact.
It was pretty easy to see if you know Joey he was upset at himself because it would have been a huge win for him.

I guess I'm just getting old. I no longer follow or watch any content from YouTubers, IG'ers, etc once they get millions of followers, like the Deegans have. IMHO it ruins people, they get too powerful, they sell out, and grift back and forth to cater to their cult-like followers. The Deegans might be a great family, but their legion of followers have to be the most annoying on the internet (except for maybe Cocksey Mob) and I get so tired of reading through comments on a RacerX or Vital video, and have to weed through comments about Deegs even though he was never mentioned in said video. Why does this family, and Deegs himself, have so many followers who seem to almost be religiously loyal to them, I just don't get it. And don't get me started about a certain family member, who has a racing career because she's popular and attractive, which just drives an old guy like me crazy... a future Danica Patrick (who's gone semi-bat-shit-far-right-crazy after becoming so popular).
Rogan followers are the same freaking way. I used to listen to him occasionally, but not anymore since he's grifted far right after being more left leaning in the past. His "bro" followers are also another annoying part of the internet, and now Rogan has spawned a bevvy of other comedians and influencers who've blown up after being on his show... Tim Poole, Tim Dillon, Theo Vaughn, etc... all who I used to listen to, but not anymore since they've gotten so popular and probably completely sold out.
/end race tech rant
He's been inked to Star for months now for their amateur program in 2025, he has to see out his Australian contract first. He's another rider they make fun of Daniel Blair for losing to Star, him and Cole Davies were both KTM riders who Daniel Blair showed interest in, he brought Minear to the states for amateur combine and then Star just went thanks and signed him. This isn't breaking news.
Can’t say I disagree with much of what you said about the deegans and the content machine they need to keep feeding.
It’s a shame because the kid is absolutely fucking nasty on the bike, but all the noise that comes with him takes away from that. But a tiger can’t change its stripes and they aren’t gonna change now.
Savagy is a huge crybaby. He should be happy to finally figure out a championship, instead he is coming up with shit like he posted. Yeah bro, not a lot of people coming to see you, champion or not, they come for deano and the rest of the 37.000 people came to see”the 3 guys”. Be happy to get a championship and thank them that more than a handful of people know about it.
When it comes to Chad, he is acting like the biggest attention hoe. I’m sorry Chad, you been great but stoping talking only about yourself and how great you’ve been. And please stop pushing your poor kid so much. Feel sorry for the kid, he is no daiperboy and never will be.
Daniel Blair and Matthes have been talking about this for weeks. Star keeps taking Blairs up and coming riders.
So do you dislike Deegan or right wing tendencies?
Deegan is probably the best 250 rider in the world, and it's not that I dislike him, it's that I just choose never to view any of his content. That whole family is clearly trying to capitalize on a popularity that I just don't get, and choose not to feed into. Same with many other popular content creators, I just avoid them. Personal choice. Many of them become too powerful, too full of themselves, and seem to have very cult-like followings. You can't really trust much of anything they say because most are taking money from people that control what they do and say. I can only imagine a popular YouTuber with a million followers, and how much $$ they are offered behind the scenes that sort of controls what content they put out. So many people seem to trust social media more than legacy media, but aren't the two sort of morphing into the same thing, and social media might even be less trustworthy, since it's more of the wild west with virtually no controls in place. Look at the rumors of guys like Tim Poole supposedly accepting money that came from Russian state media... who knows if it's true, but with some of what he says on this channel, it's sure believable that it happened. I don't want to be part of any of that.
And right wing has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of far left channels on youtube too, for example. But if you look at the top 10-20 political channels on a site like YouTube, the vast majority of them are right wing, so they seem to have that platform locked down, and that's what YouTube seems to feed me. But no way in hell am I watching or following guys like Tim Poole, Joe Rogan, Russel Brand, etc . To me those guys are too far gone... sold out. And frankly I don't think any of them are intelligent, they've just figured out how to become ultra-popular, which seems to be catering your content to either the far right or far left, and then constantly attack the other side. Because of that, their content, IMHO, is not a trustworthy source of information or entertainment, for me anyways.
He said 'far right' tendencies.
Deegan's currently may be the best rider in the US, but he's only raced in the US, what makes you think Deegan is the best 250 rider in the world?
I’m a huge Reed fan, but post retirement has been hard to watch with him. Look no further than him claiming how great WSX would be. Or talking about AP and Webb unable to hit whoops
Post AUSX Open impressions:
1. Great venue.
2. Track looked relatively easy in terms of rhythm sections and so on but seemed to lack traction and looked slippery.
3. Very badly organised signing sessions with little to no information on the website. Schedule made it appear the 1.30pm went to 3pm but only went to 2.30pm and the 4.15 signing was only a private paid session - this wasn't mentioned on the website. Hence, a lot of people missed out on getting Jett and Hunter's signatures. The Lawrence brothers' queue was probably 10 times the length of the next longest which was Webbs.
4. Jett not competing in the 3rd moto was very dubious. I saw his crash and his bike after it and it was far from mangled. The no spare bike excuse doesn't hold as it would have been easily possible to get the bike ready in time for the last moto. The fact the team was vague about what was wrong with it makes me think it was not a big problem. If it was they would have said in order to avoid getting any heat. In short, if this was the AMA series Jett would have been able to race, however it was clear the team and him decided not to bother racing to avoid risk. This would have been okay in a multi race series as he's paid to race in the series for HRC - his obligation is only indirectly to the fans. But in the AUSX situation he is being paid by the promoters (or is actually part of the promoters) and people are showing up to watch him race, not the supercross series itself. There is far more of a direct obligation to race for the fans.
5. Jett looked great in the superpole and coming through the pack in race 1.
6. That being said he looked like he was racing at 70ish per cent.
7. Too many races. If you have decent gaps between races anticipation is built up. No offence to the 85s etc but just have SX1 and SX2 and have two races of 16 minutes each, not two 8 minute ones and a 12. Short races suck.
8. Don't interview Ellie Reed - we don't care what she has to say.
When has Chad 'um' Reed not been a bit of a cock? He spends all his time trying to put himself on the same level as Stew and RC and denigrates everyone else. He stuck around for way to long and took the piss by showing up fat and out of shape - for no other reason than he couldn't stand to give up the limelight. As soon as Jett showed up he knew his time being the darling of Aus motocross/sx was up and he finally retired. Since then he has continued to take cheap pot shots at the Lawrences - joined occasionally by his insufferable wife.
That’s what you took from all of that ? lol. That’s biggest throw away sentence in the whole response. Who cares if he’s #1 or #10
This is the moto-related section, that was @ChurchOfBrap's only comment that relates to moto!
Deegan's a good rider, but claiming he's the best 250 rider in the world, when he hasn't raced outside the US is a huge stretch.
Pit Row
Edit: Sorry to OP for the hijack. Thought this was the other thread lmao. Unreal.
My b, thought you were the other guy that responded.
You have to admit he’s definitely in the conversation as best. Most of the guys you are thinking of haven’t raced in the US, and have never raced a SX.
I thought they parked Jett too as the whole event was a bit crazy, crashes everywhere and maybe they should of worked on the track sooner.
Cant blame Jetts camp really as a broken wrist for 25 SX would been a disaster.
I'm not following all the nitty gritty of silly season moves. That's awesome he's getting a shot with Star, gotta feel for Blair as he seems like a decent dude but with the way KTM is going, there might not be anywhere for orange amateurs and prospects to go soon anyway.
Deegan is likely the best current 250 Supercross rider in the world, Supercross is a US specialty, but best 250 motocross rider is debatable, we may never know unless he races outside the US.
No wonder Blair’s riders haven’t been getting poached from ktm at an alarming rate.
The Jett fanboys are awfully quiet after last weekend...
Cause there is nothing to say. He showed both Offseason races that he is the #1 and if he wants to it’s bad for anybody else.
that was the first time I've watched Minear, dude was impressive - great starts and not scared to battle vets.. Definitely looks ready for the next level.
Maybe just stick to The View or Rachel Maddow to keep yourself informed? Confirmation bias at it's best.
High chance I'm wrong but I don't recall a well done to team Oz for winning the des Nations from the Reed camp.
