For whatever reason I feel like a loyalty/affection/pride in the brand. I want to build and ride an awesome bike. It’s probably because my first bike was a Suzuki but I’m fond of them.

Same for me. JR50 to a DS80 then RM80 then steel frame RMZ250.

I’m still trying to find a 1991 RM80 for nostalgia.

Very cool 😎 Owen Jake... What I want to know is who is the Sad Ass miserable dipshit that down voted every single post in this thread??!!!  What are you a toddler? If we can see the up voters then we should be able to see down voters Imo. Sorry O.J for my little rant.

I used a pair on my 69 Camaro back in 76. I had a 73 Suzuki TM250 strapped on. Drove it from North Carolina to Arizona when I joined the Air Force.

Removing the judder spring in the clutch was a big help on mine, and cleaning the rotors with contact cleaner and braking cm46 brake pads up front.

oem pro taper husky bend bars are an improvement too the ergos for me too!

Other than that don’t spend money on the exhaust it isn’t worth the cost.

Basic revalve and spring from evo industries had me dialed too, didn’t make any fuss of the shock at all, they are sensitive to sag but beyond that was a great easy to ride bike. Use the roll on power and enjoy! Think roczen not deegan!!

So, biggest question, has your wife figured it out that this is not a new swing set yet?

Congratulations on your double victories!

Bag secure. We’re back in Kentucky. Rebuild will be complete Monday. My wife told me “you’re like a real life meme cause you’re so ridiculous” (in the best way).

I prefer the term “passionate” but whatever🤙🏻😂

when you pull the judder springs out, do you simply remove them and reinstall everything? If I dislike the clutch feel I can pop those out. I have some HD clutch springs ordered already but I have done that to every bike i've ever owned. I'll already be in there.

IMG 0657 0I came down in my car for gas purposes. I gave DeLand a call on a bike taking a shot in the dark and we made a deal. Awesome place to do business by the way. Call Cheyanne if you want a new bike.

“Now what?”

So, when the family gets back, we will begin playing Tetris.

I figured this is funny enough to share. Happy thanksgiving and merry Christmas. Enjoy.

Anyone else ever have to do this?

Not exactly.

Once upon a time, I just HAD to ride, but I didn't have a truck.

So I partially disassembled my 1978 Yz125, and stuffed it into the hatchback of my '79 Toyota Supra.

Reassembled the Yz at Palm Ave in San Diego, rode it for a couple of hours, then disassembled it and stuffed it back into my Supra.  Man, that second time after riding was tough!

Then drove it home and somehow managed to get it unloaded and back together.

When you need to ride, you need to ride!

So worth it.

I'd have pictures, but cell phones weren't around yet.

Congrats on the new bike!  It looks really cool!

This is dedication! When I raced WORCS a guy did this to get to every round in his BMW. I’m only about 8 hours from grand junction right now I just might have to head that way with the accord and scoop one of them up!

Any RMZ brothers with setup tips drop it in here. Besides the tires, fork valving, and the rear shock, this thing should stay bone stock!

Congrats man!

One of the easiest and smoothest 450s to ride. I after getting ball tapped by the seat for 100th time I switched out the shock for an 06 kx450f shock with a 5mm spacer added during rebuild. So much better. No unexpected launches.

I’m running the vital suggested KX torque specs and it seems to be working well.

The judder spring didn’t do much for me. Bike still stalls easily when in low rpms. Switching to a rekluse.

Keefers map is pretty good. But nothing like the hit of yz450

Which Kawasaki shocks fit? What are the years? What do you mean 5mm spacer? I would like to start researching this for testing purposes! Sick bike too.

06-08 KX450F. I got lucky and found one that was build by prociruit with their “works” parts. $150 fully rebuild. I used the spacer kit from race tech to match the factory bfrc length. 3 black spacers I believe. So far it’s been great. It soaks up braking bumps like a dream without bucking me wild.

Go ahead and buy whatever you need before you have the baby. You're probably not going to want to spend any money for a while, I know I didn't.

We had about an inch of rain a few days ago and its supposed to be in the 50s next week.  If you are gonna come all that way to buy a bike, you best shred the desert while you are there, you won't regret it!

Agree 100% with what he said about the clutch, stalling and Keefer map.

The biggest gripe I have with the engine is the stalling when going into a really tight 180 rut.  I have tried playing w the tuner to get rid of that, but I haven't found the fix yet.  My guess it that a Vortex would be the ticket, but I'm not willing to spend the 700 bones to find out.

I will have to find the pictures, but I did purchase a 2007 cr250, and took it home in the back seat of a Toyota Corolla.  Took off the forks, bars, exhaust, and swing arm, to get it in.  Set it on a couple carboard boxes.  You have to do what you have to do when a good deal is in front of you!

That’s my biggest issue. I’ve tried playing with the idle, but it still happens. I picked up the rekluse radiusx 4 for $300 and I’m hoping that solves the issue. Worth a try to prevent the frustration of kicking it mid race.
