I came down in my car for gas purposes. I gave DeLand a call on a bike taking a shot in the dark and we made a deal. Awesome place to do business by the way. Call Cheyanne if you want a new bike.
“Now what?”
So, when the family gets back, we will begin playing Tetris.
I figured this is funny enough to share. Happy thanksgiving and merry Christmas. Enjoy.
Anyone else ever have to do this?
Congrats man!
That MUST have been a good deal LOL Whatever it takes to make it happen, I respect the resourcefulness.
Congrats on the sweet new RMZ.
A true inspiration to us all. Good job!
Sorry I forgot to post price. It was $6,500 out the door. I used my AMEX and got some points back too😂
For transparency, All-Terrain PowerSports in grand junction Colorado has them for 6,100 out of state. It was an 18 hour drive for me to get it. So, travel costs would have probably put it over $6,500 anyways. I’m happy. I’ll get my YZ250 up for sale when I get home.
We’re gonna have a baby soon and I know that once lil junior is around I’ll have a hard time making purchases like this after that lol.

" Anyone else ever have to do this? "
Yes 😎
Any RMZ brothers with setup tips drop it in here. Besides the tires, fork valving, and the rear shock, this thing should stay bone stock!
That was covid time, July 2020.
Just sold this past fall to my brother and also delivered it to him in the same manner. 😁
Congratulations
Friggin awesome. May as well pull the triple tree and swing arm off as well for travel but more importantly getting it properly greased, you dam near there.
Nothing like new bike day. Enjoy!
Congratulations on the Suzuki and baby.
Suzuki guys make babies.
I’ll get some pictures when everyone gets back to help me. I think some things are getting left here and that’s quite alright😂😂
My wife has like 3 huge makeup/cosmetics/hair bags I hope we can throw some away hahahaha
Enjoy that Suzuki!! Great buy!
Calling Team Green to the "yellow courtesy phone".
😂
Answered in another thread!
Yep, lot's of good info.
I thought nobody buys Suzuki's anymore. I guess vital was wrong.
For less than a pair of cone valves your dialed. Imagine that.
Congrats!
FedeX her stuff home, I have to do it with my wife's stuff every time we go on a cruise
Pit Row
Guys. I’m not kidding. Between our luggage and the bike, there’s truly almost no air space left in the car. It’s not full, it’s FULL.
😂😂😂
Link? Plz
This is awesome! Lol. Congrats on the new bike!
I would just change the suspension and gearing and run it, I love mine .I have about 150 hours on them in the last year.
I haven't ridden one with the RM army exhaust, but sounds like that helps enough in the power department. I have been running Keefers map on a completely stock motor and exhaust with only 2 complaints. It still come off the bottom really soft and falls flat on its face with zilch for top end. But this is what makes it friendly to ride and you just short shift. You can grab a handful at any time and it won't wheelie unless you want it to, or throw you off balance like if you mob it on other 450s.
If there is a way to make the chassis a touch more compliant that would be nice, but I am not spending 400 bucks on engine mounts. I took out one bolt from the engine hangers and lightened up the torque all around, didn't seem to help much. I might drill them out and see if that helps at all. Suzuki torques everything super hard it seems like, since you have it all apart you are ahead of the game.
Good to know since I am going to ride it like a 125. I need to grow in my riding and mature and learn to balance power better. Get smoother. Learn to use power more on a gradient.
my plans are to get a different exhaust eventually or a vortex and that’s IT. I would just like it to rev out because I don’t like to short shift. I prefer being able to pull hard up like jump faces if I need to.
when you say suspension changes what did you do?
For whatever reason I feel like a loyalty/affection/pride in the brand. I want to build and ride an awesome bike. It’s probably because my first bike was a Suzuki but I’m fond of them.
Winning!
Honestly I still love the looks of the rmz. I’m still pretty young but I don’t mind kicking the bike over for sheer simplicity.
Kyb shock, fcp engine mounts, hinson clutch springs did the trick for me (got a similar deal on a leftover 23 earlier this year) congrats they're great bikes!
Perfect. Something I'd do...but then had alot of practice in the 70s.
Im currently trying to find my grandson a bike. I have a zero interest card I was looking to use but everyone wants a 3% fee for the card. Did the dealer not hit you with that? What shop you but it at? Deland as in Deland, FL?
BTW you did awesome on the packing job and congrats on the new bike!
I was honestly shocked they didnt hit me with a card fee. They initially wanted a wire which is fine but the invoicing app took whatever I put in it.
Not a shot at them they have to make money but I know there was plenty of headroom on this bike because they let me use my card. Yes - DeLand FL.
