I read through the whole feed and then some of the court documents. Has anyone made a compilation/sumart YouTube video for this? I think it would be interesting to get some interviews on it. As long as all the legality of it is wrapped up. Which I am assuming it is not.
Josh was just on Pulp and said it was still on going.
Foolish me, for some reason I clicked on this thinking I was going to see Georgia Lindsey. Drats
What a mess of a situation. AJ really fucked over his business partner from the sounds of it if I understood it correctly. I was initially a fan and subscribed to the moto academy and what he was doing but this whole saga and ripping off others content was enough to get me to cancel.
Dude is an ego maniac. You couldn't pay me to watch to his training.
Why would anyone want to be trained by someone that looks so stupid on a bike. Nobody has worse style on a bike than AJ
There is nothing wrong with the technique he teaches. Nearly everyone is riding the way he and many others are teaching. Everyone’s going to look a little different doing it but imo the message is correct. Balls of the feet, flat back, hips out. Nothing wrong with his message but he’s come off poorly and holier than thou with his approach.
This was a hell of a morning read, after hitting the cliff notes of the court docs it sure is a weird situation.
Same, although I never subscirbed to the moto academy. My dad asked me why I stopped watching AJ's videos, I told him because of the whole thing with the facility. Occasionally I watch some podcast clips or shorts, but that's about it.
I've seen him ride in person. Looked pretty damn good to me. Not the fastest guy on the track by any means. But great technique
Seems like AJ is definitely the one that screwed the pooch on this but if I heard Josh right on Pulp the business partner is suing him and not AJ.
Maybe the crazy mini dad will respond here and let us know his reasoning....I doubt it but we'll see.
Yes he is suing the owner because he lost his deposit and wants it back. I don’t think he would have a case to sue AJ. AJ was free to back out of the deal if he wanted too even if it was a shitty thing to do.
Assuming it was all in the contract like most real estate deals, I don't think he has a leg to stand on to sue the Woods family either. That shit is pretty cut and dry that your deposit is non-refundable if you don't pull through on your end to purchase.
I could be wrong I suppose, I've only done 30ish real estate deals myself so I ain't the most experienced guy in the world.
Pit Row
I don’t doubt that. You can sue for anything if a lawyer will take the case. Whether he wins or not is another story. I agree with you if it’s in the contract that he loses the deposit or earnest money or whatever you want to call it he will probably lose.
Yeah I understand why people dont like him as a person but I've also seen him ride in person (twice) and he's about as smooth as they come on a bike. Nothing wrong with his riding style or what hes teaching in the slightest.
How much money did the guy lose that put up his side of the deposit? Why did he put up his money before AJ had his side of it?
From what I gather it went something like this.
AJ and partner agree to buy facility and there is a non refundable deposit due by X date.
The partner put up his half and when the date came for the rest of the deposit and the sale to go through AJ didn’t come through with his half.
To further complicate matters moto academy had already started to make changes on the property.
To further complicate things the contract was written on a cocktail napkin with crayon. None of the contract terms are clear so two of the parties are going to spend thousands fighting to determine who loses less thousands while the guy that screwed the whole thing slowly backs out of the room.
Yep, unless I'm missing something AJ gets to walk away no worse for the wear minus a little bashing in this here thread.
He really is an ego maniac. Everything he says is a subtle dig at the rider he’s critiquing or worded in the most subtle brag toward himself and hyper critical of the other person. It’s so difficult to watch…I’m not sure if he just lacks the self awareness? I love the info itself and it’s informative but man he rarely says anything positive about others.
It doesn't matter how well you ride if you're a shit bag off the bike.
250K I believe -
The good thing is that there are dozens and dozens of other trainers out there teaching the exact same things that aren’t total d bags.
It looks awesome, but not as awesome as you!
