My Loving Wife passed away early this morning

When we last spoke…I remember thinking…

I’m grateful that you are there for her. 

The love you have for each-other was just…well…it’s just so present. It could be felt “in the air” when we were talking.

As you can tell by the messages form everyone in here…all the care and love that can be summoned is being sent your way…

I’m so sorry for the loss and pain. Just know that you are truly appreciated for the man that you are. 

Jan, you are truly missed and forever loved. 

You both provided a "how to" on living a good life, especially in the time remaining.

Sorry the adventure ended way too soon.

I'm so sorry to hear this Gary, my sincerest condolences.  

For those of you that never had the pleasure to meet Jan, I can attest to everything Gary has said about her.  My wife and I have spent many occasions with Gary & Jan, some great times and sad times alike.  Jan had such a unique way about her, so loving, so content, someone you could talk to for hours and seems like minutes.  And after a while it was easy to see that she just enjoyed life and took joy in sharing it with others.  Couldn't count how many times Jan was the only one of our wives at the track for practicing or racing.  And how she was able to endure us and all the bullshit, bonehead things we talked about and did will forever be lost on me.  I will truly miss her.

Gary, I don't know that I've ever felt so close to someone I don't know. Fuck is my day sad right now for you. I know words don't help much in times like this but I know so many people that have long "marriages" that still love each other but don't really even like each other. You and I have something many people will never experience. Actually being married to the love of our life. That one person that no matter what, makes us happy, makes us want to spend as much time as possible together. And just seems to make us whole. I don't know how I will handle what you're going through, I know this is the hardest day of your life. I also know that there's a tiny part of you that knows she is no longer in physical pain. Like with my Dad, it was a long time coming and even so I thought I was prepared emotionally. I wasn't, I know that the more you love someone the harder it is to process. I think you have a lot of support here but I imagine from the way you lead your life, you've also lot of friends to spend time with. And do that, share stories about Jan with them. Eventually, those stories will make you smile instead of cry (there's a lot of that for a while). You won't know when it's going to happen but it does, and don't try to hold it back, why would you? Your memories and feelings for Jan are much more important than what we were taught growing up, or what other meaningless people think if they see you cry.

I am so sorry to read this Gary. The one thing you can take comfort in is Jan is no longer suffering and in pain. Jan fought the good fight for 4 years and never gave up hope. I pass on my sincere condolences to you and the rest of your family during this tough time. 

You have my deepest sympathy. Sorry you have to go threw this pain. I  can see that you two where Really in Love. So rare this day and age.  You should have a park bench over looking a pond or at a marina looks like you two enjoyed boating . In her memory.
