Well Tim Cotter has stuck his d**k somewhere else it doesn't belong and banned basically all motorcycles for pit use at Ironman this weekend.

I've change my decision on going, and I hope a lot more people do as well. Letting just Atvs and UTVs in is asinine. Punishing the many for the few who act like idiots. But I can't expect much from Cotter's useless ass anyway.

Just a rant, please discuss or move on as you wish.

He'll go, his kids will run amok on their play bikes cuz freedom, he'll get kicked out, and Monday we'll have a Cooksey video about Tim Cotter terrorizing families that are just trying to enjoy GNCC. lol

I've never understood why a bicycle is not good enough for a pit vehicle.

Its not just GNCC. I hit a couple races at Ponca and the pit riding was out pf control and now Ponca has no insurance so the tracks closed until further notice. Play stupid games ,win stupid prizes

Surrons and lack of parenting has caused this.

Yep.

As they've locked down more and more on pit bikes it seems like the parents who want to just turn their kids loose and not have to parent them are the ones the most upset.

Do you go to the races to ride your pit bike? I’m tired of walking the pits and nearly getting run over. It’s a far bigger problem than OP believes. Rules are rules. Stop being a liberal.

I dont have kids, I go to watch and help out a few friends, and like to spectate from more than 1 spot the whole time.

I ride a Trail 90 and use it to carry stuff around with me incase the rider needs it.

Again they punish everyone because they don't want to do the job right and stop the idiots. This solution wont work and they know it.

I won't be going and I hope many others don't as well. That or enough people go and tell them to go fuck themselves and ride whatever they want and it's uncontrollable chaos.

If this is official I'd show up with a ttr-110 and ride wheelies around the pits!

I use my bike to help the riders I'm there for, I use the rack on my Trail 90 to carry stuff incase it's needed. I don't have the room nor the money for a utility quad or utv.

In his video, Cotter made it sound like all motorcycles are banned now. But who knows, he doesn't follow his own rules elsewhere either.

Hopefully if people do that they are escorted off the property.

I'm sorry you're feelings are hurt that you can't use your Trail 90, sounds like you're not really part of the "problem"  BUT it is absolutely ridiculous that you think people should just go and still do whatever they want.

Honestly, that's idiotic and selfish as fuck, the world doesn't revolve around you bud.

It's very, very clear that you have never helped put on a race and don't have a clue how much liability is involved in it.

Stay home, the race will still go on with out you there.  Nobody will even notice you aren't there.

GNCC pits are a nightmare. ESPECIALLY at Ironman.

I heard locally in the last week that our district will most likely prohibit anything with a throttle.  Just bicycles for next year.  The main reason was insurance.  The number stated was that of all the claims pit vehicles accounted for 25% of them.

Please lord baby Jesus let this be AMA D14 lol. Really tired about being pushed off the roads by kids driving sxs or pit bikes..

So…we’re angry at Cotter…again?

What time does Deegan race? 🤣

A lot of my local tracks are going to no pit vehicles. It's the insurance calling for this. I'm glad it's happening. Less dust in the pits, less packs of feral children, less drunk parents doing 100mph to watch their lil' all-star in the PW50 class, etc. Walk or bike, it's good for you.

Not loud enough and can lead to heavy breathing.

How are you going to bail on the riders you are helping because you have to walk instead of pit ride?

Oh it will work.  They banned pitbikes at LL this year and it had zero effect on the turnout.

Coming to AMA sanctioned races near you. Onewheel, Stacycs, Scooters (including plated street legal) are on the chopping block

Im sure a generous "handshake" will keep them legal though

For every one of the guys like you there are 5-7 fat dumb retards blasting around making the situation unsafe for everyone. I would ban them too. Use a mountain bike and stop crying about a rule

HonTech23 wrote:

Never said they would, but if its just SXS and utility atv's it'll be a lot less traffic , its a start

Until they park all those big ass things all in the damn way. Half the time you can't even get to staging cause people park them things just wherever they choose.  Not directed at you, just some of my observations at races we go to.  I walk everywhere mainly just for the exercise

Those same kids flying on dirt bikes, there are just as many driving around in sxs and ATV's.  Actually it's usually like the little sisters driving them everywhere.  I'm okay with doing away with all that unnecessary shit.

Somewhere like Loretta's when you camped down near her house is a little different.

I am glad they banned pit vehicles. It is ridiculous.

You can sit there in the parking area at a GNCC and watch non riding, non racing dumbasses show up in trucks on race day to spectate. the first order of business is unload a gaggle of quads/golf carts/pit bikes...and then set off for a day of alcohol, sunshine, and speeding around in the pits and woods surrounding the track. It is idiotic. I have seen this personally many times.

This is to say nothing of the 1000 twelve year olds blasting around on 110's with no helmet and doing 40mph through the pits

I'd ban all pit vehicles. Bicycles only, pedals only.

Exactly. E-bikes may be the most dangerous pit vehicle yet. I see young kids absolutely flying on these pedal assist things , straight through the pits, and no sound at all
