Its slower than it has been for sure. I have always wanted a smaller bore street legal dual sport, but didn't want to put a lot of $ into one just because it will only be ridden from time to time. Found a 2019 Honda CRF250L with only 747 miles like new, no scratches for $3K a few weeks back.
About 4 months ago I sold a 2008 YZ250F for $3500, no granted it was fresh top end, suspension and new tires but still.
Dealer in atlanta has one left at 7999 but they will add fees on top of that. I agree 8500 ain't bad right now.
If that banshee isn’t murdered out with black spray paint take it! Would be easier to sell than a used mx bike
🤣

I feel like stuff has settled a little bit, but I wouldn’t say it’s crashed like it did during covid. Prices might come back up. As someone mentioned above, it’s hard to compete with a dealer marking stuff down. Hopefully we get a better economy in the next 4 years.
I bought a left over '24 250xc for $8,700 out the door a couple weeks ago.
from where any more out there?
The one I snagged was the last one that dealer had.
Seems like there’s plenty to buy within 200 mile radius - basically any bike you want.
True. It’s a crate motor so no work was done by us. A crate motor is a brand new stock Kawi motor straight from Kawi. Not rebuilt, not refurbished. Which yeah most people have a hard time understanding that too.
$6200 OTD for a Kawi 450? Where’s that at cause yeah I’ll send em there.
Lmao
Don't laugh, Banshees are bringing crazy money now and have for several years. Even used engine parts are very high.
Took me a couple months to sell a super low hour 24 Beta 300RX with a crap ton of extras in September. Same trend as usual for me..."Buy High and Sell Low". Guess I got lucky getting $7500 for it. Paid for a trip to Alaska and some maritime training. Will wait for the Ducati now.
It's falling for some categories of classics too. I specialize in Yamaha RD series restos. I sold a matched pair of almost perfect, low-mileage 1977 RD400Ds to a collector last year for $22,000. Now I am seeing similar bikes in the $8000 range. That generation (mine!) of riders are starting to die off and the market will go with us. Anyone want a perfect 79 Daytona Special? Oh hell no that one is going to my son.
Yep, ATVs are everywhere. Honda 2007 300ex. Mountain bikes are crazy cheap too.
Any idea what Banshees are going for?
There's an 06 on ebay right now for 15,800.
Pit Row
I had a new 24' YZ250F listed up there a while ago. Still no sale
Nah I mean all the KTM brands hold their resale value and people are broke. More feasible to finance a new one.
There's several posted and sold in my area of N. Illinois. Anywhere between $5K-$8 and they are selling. Not bro'd out or thrashed. Decent build with some goodies for the most part. I'd love one, but it would just be an expensive talking piece. lol
My kids tc65 has been listed on and off since last January, not one call or email. It's priced well too and has good parts.
It would seem the majority of folks that do have bikes are not riding and new riders/buyers are in no hurry.
It’s a used buyer’s market right now
It's not a good time to be "White man gets hurt on his motorcycle". Doesn't go over well in the emergency room.
How did that work with acquiring a crate motor? I have heard Mitch reference that he got his hands on a few 450 crate motors a few years ago and they sold like hot cakes. I’ve always been intrigued on why manufacturers don’t offer this option right from a microfiche. Maybe a complete, drop in motor or for a few $$$ less a ready to go bottom end. Just put your head, cylinder, and piston in, drop it in your bike and go.
Thanks for the info. I really had no idea. Got a 96 & 97 stock with pipes and paddles collecting dust.
I don't condone this Jabberwocky in any way, but that thing is worth more than a 2024 kx450.....
I had a ‘21 YZ450 on consignment for $6800 from July to mid October. I would have pocketed about 6,150 after their fees. I picked the bike up, cleaned off the literal dust it collected, listed on FB marketplace for $5,800, and had it sold 2 days later for full asking price.
Its weird out there. There’s a lot of inventory at or around blue book but the sellers are stubborn on price, especially cause a lot of those bikes were bought during the Covid boom at premium prices. If you survey the market and price competitively, you can make a sale. You’ll probably not enjoy it, though.
I get them through team green. I don’t believe they sell them to the general public. But one time when team green was out of them & i got one through Pro Circuit. If you’re interested I would call pro circuit to start.
