...today in moto 1 of the season final of the Dutch Championship, Kay DeWolf took it to Jeffery and beat him and Jago Geerts in the first  450 moto. Note the wheelie thru the whoops at the end of the moto by DeWolf.   When this guy comes to AMA motocross, it will be interesting..

And hurt himself in the final lap… without even crashing. He still won the moto but looked uncomfortable

No biggie, Herlings is usually hurt for all of the laps, not just the last one.

Seems like Kay is the new “it” guy, as everyone wants to be talking about him. Fact of the matter is he isn’t even the fastest guy in MX2, I don’t see him being the world beater everyone makes him out to be. He has skills no doubt, but I think our boys will have him covered.

Lucas Coenen and Kay are both insanely talented guys. I see no world in which they are being over hyped. There is no doubt in my mind that they would destroy our 250 MX class if it was just plug and play like that. Deegan is right there with them but after that, there is a severe drop off in outdoor motocross for the US in the 250 class. de Wolf is the real deal.

Is KTM group gonna be able to keep De Wolf and Coenen and give them both what they want (whether that's coming to America or going MX1)

Hard to say Kay would destroy our guys. On a normal track on Saturday at nations vialle handled all of them rather easily. And he struggled with Hymas, kitchen and deegs was on another level. Add in RJ to the mix. Lucas has shown hes as good. There are plenty of guys than can win the 250 class right now. In my opinion, deegs and Lucas are the two fastest 250 riders in the world this year. We will see next year how good Kay and Lucas are with them stepping up to the 450

I think the Euro guys have a hard time adjusting to AMA motorcycles, or at least it takes them some time to get used to the some what restricted changes they can make compared to the FIM rules.

Yes Jeffery won the second moto by 5 seconds over DeWolf, who apparently got a poor start and had to work his way through the pack.

I am told by someone who maybe knows that most likely he will defend his MX2 title before moving up to the 450 class on who knows what continent. Kay just turned 20 last week, he has a lot of time...

By wheelie the whoops do you mean the wheelie up the smooth straight?

By the way this was more a comment on how rough Valkenswaard gets not that DeWolf didn't do something skillful

I think since they don't know the tracks, 1 day format is really hard to adjust compared to 2 day mxgp format and also i think every mxgp rider going to america fucus soo much energy into supercross they kind of neglect mx training.

I said over 3 years ago that Kay would be something seriously special..... you could just see it in his riding

Outdoors, De Wolf is on another level than Hymas or Kitchen. And I wouldn't even talk about Hampshire...

De Wolf did not have a bad start and had to work his way through the field in moto 2. He was in 2nd, 6 secs behind Herlings after lap 1.

I would not make much from these results, its just a well paid training ride for these GP guys.

i've posted this before but a classic take by Osborne on Kay De Wolf when he was 14 @ 3:08.

Coenen is only 17, he will improve with settling for 2nd or 3rd Smile

De Wolf made the exact same mistakes during his early stages of GP and EMX career, both of them are equally incredibly talented. It is like watching the Roczen/Herlings era all over again, but they were already doing it at the age of 15(!)

It is only in recent years that herlings has been satisfied with second places.....yes lucas coenen can be compared with roczen/ herlings........I think the wolf is a little less
