Gajser pass on Jett

Was that the first time a healthy Jett Lawrence was straight up passed in a 450 motocross race?  I know he was passed when he crashed at Hangtown and at Southwick when he was injured but I can't recall another. This isn't a "hate on Jett" post as I think he's awesome. Just wondering.

Kenny passed him at High Point last year, unrelated to any falls.

Haha Jett was mad too. He hated it so much. Gajser came out of nowhere.

Props to him on that pass. Not many people have passed a healthy Jett straight up. I don’t count him being passed “straight up” when he was coming back from injury, but this was a legit pass.

I think Kenny was the only one, if you don't count Hangtown and Southwick.
He passed him at High POint and I guess you can count Jett's baby gift in SMX as a pass as well

Also Ruben fernandez passed him briefly in 2022 😅

Mxdn will always make you ask...was he riding at 100% or being conservative for the best interest of the team

Not a Jett fan by any means but it was obvious Gajser went in there basically saying my team sucks we aren’t going to be close to winning so I don’t care if we both fall and Jett saying maybe I could stay in this and hold him off but if we both go down our team win could be toast. So he backed off. And he gave Hunter the inside gate and passed all the top guys in the world on his way to first and the team win.

Jett made a lot of mistakes on the last two laps for a guy cruising home. Look liked he couldn’t shake him off to me. Give Tim his dues FFS

Everyone talking bout Tim G’s pass on Jett, but saying nothing how Jett rode through the field passing mxgp champs and ama champs on the way to stealing the trophy off the yanks.

Its nuts if you even have to ask this question. I dont think we even realize yet how freaking good this kid is. Now that he won mxdon hes won every single championship he is able to compete in by his 2nd year on the 450 and had won everything but mxdn his first year. Not sure if thats been done before. I wonder if he ends up back at mxgp so he can be the first guy ever to win every single championship? Would be pretty cool imo.

Not in this case. He said straight after the race that he wanted to win, and had to bring up that he passed Tim last year, I guess it made him feel better

It would really set him apart if he went and won a GP title or two. He can and will win a boatload of AMA titles. Only Bayle with GP and a SX title right?

No des Nations title for JMB, though, so if Jett decided to go that route and won a couple of world titles, he'd have the advantage.

OT: To the guy who said Jett wasn't riding at 100% because he knew they had the win, I guess you missed the part where someone had to tell him Aus won while he and TiGa were congratulating each other...

It must suck to be Tim Gajser. Arguably the fastest rider in the world, makes an amazing pass in the last 2 corners to secure a 1-1 at the freaking MXDN, and still doesn't get the respect he deserves!

He also went from 10th at the end of lap 1 to 1st in that race. He didn’t win the race but he was the most impressive in the race to anyone that watched it.

Gajser is a bad mofo.  Great moto 1 win, and awesome moto 2 race, and WFO pass in last corner for 1-1.  Respect!

I agree. And I think he should do it sooner rather than later. Like run MXGP in’26 and’27, then come back to the States and try to dethrone the Supercross champ.

Next year is going to be unhinged if everyone stays healthy. Especially MX. with Jett and Eli at full strength, a returning champ Sexton, rising Hunter, and Prado.

His 5 world titles might help soften the blow.

So many freaking excuses in this thread; “Jett had to come through the pack…” “Jett had to run back to back races…”. Sometimes it’s just the other guy’s day.
