Fucking proud as hell of Webb. Fought forward both motos. I’m still not a believer, AP doesn’t have what it takes to handle the pressure on this stage. He should have had an easy top 5 finish.

AP finished 3rd in the Nationals. He has every right to be on this stage. It amazes me how many of his countrymen put him down - he stepped up from the start, just like he did last year. I fucking hope he's on the gate for Ironman in 2025, he deserves it!

Does he deserve it? Yes. Is he good when it counts? No. I will say it again and again until I'm proven wrong, he does not...

Does he deserve it? Yes. Is he good when it counts? No. I will say it again and again until I'm proven wrong, he does not deliver on this stage. I called it in August, if he starts outside the top 5, he won't finish in the top 5. He started 4th and dropped to 7th. Webb started outside the top 15 and made his way up to 9th. AP maintains, he doesn't gain.

Sad but true.  He needs the ride of his life in the next 30 minutes

Australia have to be favourites going into the last moto.

Call me stupid but I really don't get all the goggle stops during a race of this magnitude. Renaux held on for 4th riding over 10 minutes without goggles, Febvre too seemed to hang on for quite a while without them. Vialle and Webster were both in better positions and threw it away to come in for goggles. Sure you can't move forward but I don't see how it's worth stopping with all the positions you lose.

Maybe a combination of the permanent damage that could happen riding without them vs the positions?

I think Spain is a sneaky chance here.

Arguably Aus and Spain have their 2 best riders in the last race, other teams only have 1 of their best.

100% agree. I have yet to seen anyone pit for goggles and suddenly go much, much faster.

Did you see the state of Deano's face at the 2017 MXoN when he rode without goggles?

What a move by De Wolf, he is riding incredibly well.

Crashed and got goggles and still placed 5th, wtf. Felt like he was passing AP three times.

People hate to hear the facts. His average first lap position over 22 motos in the summer was 6.4, his average finish was 4.4. He's great when he's up front, but the fight isn't there when he starts to go backward. I will fully accept the plate of crow if he delivers in Moto 3. I want him to prove me wrong, he's a great racer but we don't need great right now, we need the best.

?

Netherlands leads and has Hermings and the Hoff

USA 2 pts down with Tomac and AP

France 3 pts down with Febvre and Renoux

Spain 3 pts down with Prado and Fernandez

Australia 4 pts down with the Lawrences.

Gonna be crazy. AP needs the ride of his life.

If Sexton was here, I feel we'd still be in the same position.  Him and ET are a pretty good trade-off.

France probably has this in the bag unless the Aussies go 1-2. Tomac is great but AP will most likely struggle to get top 10, hopefully not. Same with Coldenhoff backing up Jeffery he will struggle to get top 10 as well most likely.

Hunter needs to have a cracker and Jett needs to take care of business

Basically if any of the top 5 teams can pull two top 5 results in moto 3, that team probably wins.

I say give AP the top game pick and hope for a holeshot, then let Tomac tear up as far as he can from a bad start.

Who does USA give better gate to tomac or AP? Opinions while we wait?

I cant believe this is a thing to talk shit about guys getting goggles. Vialle botched that stop but in the previous moto they said Hunter was 2 sec a lap faster after getting goggles. Id prefer riders keep their eyes.

You have to give AP the better gate, i have never seen him able to come through the pack.

100%. They can put Prado outside and he'll still holeshot. They could easily be top 5 with both riders first lap

Yep. Oliver nailing a 13th that last moto was quietly a huge ride. Spain has a legit shot at the top step.
