Nice! What hubs do you have? Anyone know when the WE will be available? Thought it was supposed to be in September.

First ride, love it. Just easier to ride than the 24 Yamaha (which was a great bike too), suspension was fine, felt very Honda much different than my 23 was, stable and comfortable out the box, glad I made the switch. IMG 1458 2

So can you please explain some of the differences between the two handling power suspension I’m on the fence

Sure.

Yamaha: Hands down win for suspension, it takes everything and is so easy to dial in. Yamaha power hits harder, I know people say not as good as prior gen but I didnt really notice this after having a 19, there is a weird spot in power between 2nd and 3rd but with the Yamaha I could use 2nd for a good deal of stuff, where in the honda I'm always searching for 3rd sometimes to have enough. The new blue chassis is a huge improvement from prior gen, its super slim and the rider cockpit is less "buick" feeling, it also turns great and will go where you put the front but the rear will sometimes not follow.

Honda: Maybe I'm bias but I feel the rider cockpit has an "at home feel" its just comfortable without any adjustments. Its definitely goes where you point it and is stable and predictable just like the Yamaha but has a lighter feeling to it. Suspension is not bad, honestly its maybe one step back from Yamaha, but I had no issues and it took everything I threw at it with no real issue or chatter though not as comfortable as the Yamaha. Power I will say is down but its less aggressive than the Yamaha, I do wish the gearing was a bit taller as I needed 3rd more than I did in the Yamaha.

I really love both bikes I just love this one a bit more as an old C vet who just gets a day or two a month to jump over some easy stuff and "rail" some corners. Hope this helps.

Probably looking like November. Had an October 6th ETA, but got delayed. Really looking forward to the bike after seeing the reviews. At 160 pounds, might not even have to mess with the suspension.

Looking forward to your review of the bike. I've seen you have been a Honda 250F guy for a few years now. This thread and the good reviews got me thinking...

Man a WE 250f from Honda is something I have always wanted. Not in the cards this year but hopefully in a few years. I know the straight shot airbox/intake is better for power and everything but dang, having a large tank on the RX just looks like a complete afterthought. New 2025 Red Honda image 1

They changed the airbox and filter, 2HP increase.

2 hp from an air filter and airbox?  That’s pretty hard to believe.  Got a dyno chart to show this increase?

Edit-found it.  Snap back to reality.  .8hp increase (which is still a positive move in the right direction).

MSRP plus Honda's listed freight and 199 for set up, plus tax. He said they will get 1, maybe 2 for the year, and tons of people were calling about it, so it's not really a buyers' market. I was only able to get it since I put down a deposit the day of the press release.

Picked up my 25 CRF250R Works Edition little over a week ago.  I am a slow Vet rider 6'2" 190 lbs.  So far I have ridden the bike on an old school moto track, Briarcliff MX, and some woods loops.  The 2025 CRF250R Works Edition retails for $2300 more than the 2025 CRF250R base model.  Is it worth the extra $2300?  That is up to you but for me it is worth the extra money.  I rode the CRF250R Works Edition back to back with my buddy's 25 CRF250R and the differences are easy to feel.  The Works Edition engine has more power everywhere with a sharper and stronger throttle response and a longer pull up top.  The Works Edition engine has a free feeling with little engine braking.  The head work, special ECU mapping, full Ti Yoshimura exhaust, and Twin Air air cleaner all work together to give the Works Edition engine more power and a more refined mapping feel overall compared to the base model.  The anodized red valve cover and CRF Works Edition etching on the head look cool.  The hydraulic clutch is very smooth with light pull effort.  The Works Edition coated suspension has a friction free feel (especially on initial movement) with a little more damped and controlled feel overall compared to the base model.  The red anodized Showa engraved fork caps have hand adjustable compression clickers.  The Dunlop MX33 tires work well and the full size 110/90 width rear tire (and 2.15" rim) provides excellent rear wheel traction.  The usual "just feels right" Honda ergos fit my 6'2" 190lb body perfectly though I did move the handlebars to the forward hole with clamps rotated back for a little more roomy feel.  The factory gripper seat cover keeps you in place.  HRC team graphics, Dirt Star LTX rims, and gold DID chain are nice touches.

Negatives?  Wish is came with the latest MX34 tires.  Renthal bars have a good bend but are stiff feeling compared to Pro Taper Evo bars.  The Renthal kevlar grips are soft but feel a little too thick compared to the ODI bolt on grips I normally use.  Peak power is probably still a little less than the Austrian 250F's.  A few pics....

For the 25 model, is the stock ECU open to remap it at a tuner?

WE Review.

First thing I noticed, the motor is very strong relative to the 24. It pulls so much harder off the bottom. It still has a very nice linear and free feeling, and revs far. Where I used to be a bit lost between 2nd and 3rd gear, now I can just pull 3rd where I want to, and use 2nd for tight turns. It has a ton of recovery in the upper RMPs as well. Just a super fun motor to ride. It has the cleanest ECU I have ever experienced. Even lugging around, it's so crisp and zero hesitation.

Chassis/Suspension. I am coming off the 24 with FC Linkage and revalve, stiffer springs front and rear (I am 155-160, faster vet rider, 6 foot). I rode a sand track with some really square edge fast sections that never gets prepped, so I have an apples to apples comparison. The new chassis has so much more comfort through the hands, and does not feel as bound up at all. To put it simply, it floats over things much easier. You do give up a little bit of precision / track feel. The 24, I could feel the groud so well. It's not really the 25 has less traction, just a bit less feel and sharpness in slower loose stuff. I will take it anyday. The suspension might be a bit soft once it breaks in, but it has a pretty decent amount of holdup for how well it moves through the stroke. I really like how the rear end of the bike has the same shape, you can really grab the bike with your legs.

Very cool they put on a 2.15. The rims are awesome, did not even have to tighten the spokes much after the first day. The bike looks incredible. I am going to leave it totally stock for now, maybe get the TwinAir powerflow when it comes out, and might have FC stiffen up the valving / springs a bit.

I am not much of a clutch abuser, but having the very smooth and linear pull on the hydraulic, and not having to adjust it, is so nice.

Between the rims, the ECU tune/exhaust/headwork, and the suspension upgrades, totally worth the money to me.
