I say it every year. If you are close, go. Beautiful track, good racing and good times. Been many times, never let me down. Even the time that I twisted my ankle and swoll up the size of a softball, the time I stubbed my toe and had to let the blood relieve thru my toenail and the time I was in second in +30 B and my carb popped out of the boot on my 01YZ250F. Was a common problem back then.
What time does Bogard race?

Same time as Hoenschell and Hawthorne....
Have you ever seen Hawthorne race the 1992 Dallas Supercross? It was very eye opening to say the least. That's when my dad and I realized just how fast the pros really were. I got either 2nd or 3rd for the amateur day on Sunday. I'll have to check my plaque.
Yep, and he was a fast guy before that. Early 80's on.
Meaning that 92 was later in his career?
Dennis was racing pro as early as 1981 that I remember in the dfw area.
About the middle. I think he retired in the early 2000's.
im just saying, its not just the top 3-5 riders that are burnt out from the season, and also, privateers or "satellite riders" as well, want a break off too....
i do remember the early 2000's though i would always have a race elsewhere that weekend and wouldnt go and wasnt ever pro yet, but there were years i remember hearing and seeing video of 4-5 guys battling ALL MOTO.... OR, Demuths front end falling off on that massive triple...
i think the prime years were 2000ish give or take, to 2010....
i did hear Brownie and Emig are going when I went and picked my Stark up from Munn this morning... so thats cool
I think alot of pro riders didn't show up because Trey refused to actually deliver on the track side of things. Swan was always a highway, and you'd think for Pro Challenge, it would be deep and gnarly, but nope...Pro guys racing on a flat Lonestar Series prep, wide open freeway with no ruts.
Glad the new owners are ripping it deep and delivering a great race track nowadays. They seem committed to providing a pro caliber track. Hopefully the event grows again and gets better turnouts.
didnt know about this since im newly living here. I will definitely have to check it out because I never liked how flat and fast it was and exactly like you said the pros want ruts and bumps, not just pushing the dirt out into little berms and being able to hold it wide open.... Thats not fun for us. the more technical and more it divides people up, the better!
I guess I have never understood the pros mentality. Go race a national and make the 40 rider field and earn 400-500 for the weekend. Or hit up a race like this and win some serious coin for finishing in the top 6 or so. Seems like a no brainer to me for a weekends worth of work.
What Mack said....
Emig and Brownie are there. Have a few buds at the track. Will post what they send me.
And Jeff Dement. Pro ams hv Great racing and amateurs race the same day. Best type of racing America has . I wish the purse would b 100k minimum. Quite a few Great Pa,s left this yr in the ne ,se and in Tx. I would Love to check out the 10-20 race in Mo. track has a number of tracks . Including a replica GT area across. Bonnie and Clyde shoot out its called in Mo. weird morning of running in Chicago trk yard, shop, Ukraine drivers, Chicago guy . They speak no English so I mix up English & Native American. Haha . Then run errands , laundry now ,

I believe a regular Pa payout depends on how many design up , I could b wrong. The Tx. Race is a Big one. Muddy creek 10-12,13 had the biggest 2-st payout of the yr and it’s a Pa. Chad Johnson won both 450 Pa motos at Xmas. Some guys you haven’t heard of in a while show up. I think it’s cool Aztalan had 2 this yr . Any of them will hv riders from all ovr including Ca. 2,000 mi from home trying to get points for the pro card.
Pit Row
We got a good group of guys here today!
I saw Grant Harlan, Mike Brown, John short, Ryder Floyd, Lance kobusch, Mathew Curler, Collin Allen, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Just going off memory from practice.
Lane shaw, Henry Miller, and Cheyenne Harmon are here also
Mike Brown with the huge 250 moto 1 holeshot on the smoker
Colin Allen is one to keep your eye on. He took the lions share of cash from the Jeeps SX a couple of weeks ago. I see former World Superbike Champ Colin Edwards son on the sheet there too. Might just drive down there after work.
Brown, Floyd, kobusch, Shaw, Allen top 5
Floyd got Brown for first, kobusch pressuring Brown now.
Miller up into 4th
What class(es) is Emig racing?
Miller pulled up on the battle for second with Brown and kobusch, but then Miller went down in the corner after Big Tex.
Kobusch ended up getting Brownie for second
I'm not sure, I don't see him in the entry lists for the pro classes.
I'll head up to the scorer's tower in a few and report back
Edwards caught Allen in 5th place but I think Allen held him off. Both those guys were on rails!
