Well that's a bit negative.

Lets be glass half full types and wish that working with Aldon Baker can get Barcia back to being more of a top 5 guy rather then a top 10 guy.

I don’t understand the age comments. As I age I become a better athlete. Smarter, more controlled, more wisdom. You guys act like he’s turning 50.

It sounds like Barcia wants to keep racing after ‘25. Probably the reason for Baker’s. Gonna try and get a good run in ‘25 and maybe get something for ‘26.

Even though the peak for an endurance athlete is around 34-36, his brain starts slowing long before that.

The most important part of motocross racing is how fast your brain can process information coming at it, that’s what separates the good from the greats. That peaks at 20 and slowly starts to diminish around 27 and speeds up after that.

So Tomac as a pro mountain bike rider would have years left, Tomac as a pro supercross rider has a year or two max.

You’re probably becoming a better athlete as you age because you’re probably not competing at a high level, and you’re learning your body.

Barcia might be the next Mike Brown, I think he will go as long as he can, if he can be competing at 40 he will.

I don’t think he called you a low level athlete, he’s probably guessing you don’t make a living off being an athlete

Nobody is saying that. You’re not competing at the highest level.

Don’t say that on here. People act like you forget how to ride a dirt bike after your 26th birthday 😂

I wish some of the older guys would try the transition to cycling. I'd like to see Barcia on a pro mountain bike endurance race.

The weirdest switch to happen in the last 4-5 years is how people here think 30 year olds have an advantage over the young guns. In 01 everyone was saying how RC should be beating MC since he was 7 years younger. Now it has reversed for some odd reason.

Absolutely. Youth is the most unfair advantage in sports.   There's a reason they say that youth is wasted on the young.

Look at Tomac from 2015 and now.  He looks a lot like Jett in the races from 2015 on a 450.  Very effortless in every movement.   Now he looks like a vet rider just muscling the bike.

It's also wild how much different Eli's bike looked in 2015 outdoors before he got hurt vs the Honda's now riding up in the stroke and very active.

I disagree, he was never as smooth as Jett was. Pre-injury Roczen is a better Jett comparison from a riding style perspective

10 years ago everyone said you’re not winning without Aldon.

 Vital is a fickle bunch.

Who cares!  I'm tired of Dum Dum doing stupid shite year in year out.  Can tell someone let him know he's old and the new guard is now firmly established.

Top flight is not in the top 1 percent by the way, it's in the top 0.1 percent. The difference can be understood as that between a college basketball player and an NBA player.

I wasn't taking about riding style or technique, rather how effortless they move the bike.  It tough for me explain what I mean,  but it's how easy someone makes the bike change direction.  I think you have to watch sx races from 2015 to see how different Eli looks now to then.

This thread reeks of “so and so said” and anecdotes. Tomac, “the old vet rider”. My gosh.
