In Kawasaki's defense if you own a business why would you volunteer your employees and equipment to be scrutinized by a competitors management for one week a year?  A PC star rider saying to Mitch Payton,"You know I liked working with Decoster" for example.

This thread is full of the silliest assumptions or straight up wrong shit and most things USA-MXON in here are waaaay off the rails. While I'm responding to lappedrider, a friend, I'll state the following to the Vital gallery...

To assume why or how Kawasaki (KMC, USA) got to the point that they aren't supporting/sending their riders to the MXON in 2024 based on the gossip from back in the day when so-n-so said he heard from his sister-in-law's baby cousin Traci...all the while I;ve never heard nor seen language to that end that had shit to do with "because Roger is the Team Mgr...blah, blah, blah...".

To think you understand why a rider doesn't go public with his injuries during his racing season...and then you can't believe he has an injury when he owns up to it...well, we'll leave that out there for the social-media gossipers. A question while we're here: how long does it take for a bone to heal and for a fastener hole to close in bone? Any orthopedic surgeons in the house?

Then there's the complete A-Holes that actually talked shit on AP...? WTF? HOW do you talk shit on that dude? Did he bang your girlfriend that time he beat you on his YZ 125 back in the day? Were you not present when he took 3rd in the AMA Motocross Nationals? Do you not think the 2nd Best U.S. Rider in the Nationals should be chosen...? Did you not get the memo from Eli? Or is it that you're just an AP hatin' biotch??? Even with his injury, I hope he's able to do it...because, HE WANTS TO. The dude is just a good dude that rides a dirt bike awfully damn fast and seems to smile a helluva lot while he's doing it. Another thing, I truly love seeing a dude that OBVIOUSLY appreciates where he's at in life and the opportunities he's been given. I really like that. Ever notice that we don;t value that enough these days?

Then there's the Roger's too old bullshit...wt-actual-f? Have you talked to the man? He's still quite up to the job and he loves doing it...so, again...WTF? Besides, there are quite a few other people involved and there's plenty of "input" from others when it comes to rider selection. But, no worries...it's just like the AP thing to me..."Some men you just can't reach" and that's obvious when this subject comes up every year. EVERY...YEAR.

The lack of actual real knowledge, understanding and just straight-up "intellect" in some of these MXON discussions is simply a reminder...that...

This is the internet.

But, I digress. 🤣

Roger has more experience, integrity and brains in his pinky finger than most of the chuckleheads on this forum combined.

The Roger that asks for whoops to be cut down/ eliminated cause his riders couldn’t blitz them?

Roger’s resume is unquestionable, there’s no one with better experience as a rider, engineer or team manager.

However, there’s no doubting his appointment has, and continues to, cause conflict. If the AMA can’t see the value in rectifying that by appointing an impartial manager, then these same issues will continue every single year. Simple as that.

Nobody is questioning your point, nobody. It's the conflict of interest with a competing manufacturer, perhaps his not being in touch with todays generation of riders maybe too. Perhaps not understanding the politics or caring of the race selection process either.

LOL

You do realize no matter who runs the team somebody is going to bitch…especially if it’s anyone but Roger. Kawasaki isn’t going to mysteriously flip to supporting the team. Pretending Roger is the issue is lie and moronic.

Once he retires it will be a free for all of jealousy, back stabbing, and back room deals over the team.

Roger and his integrity, resume, experience, etc, etc are the only things keeping it civil. Especially in 2025 when it’s in America. 100% guaranteed somebody is eyeing the job…hence this campaign.

Not to forget he was doing it when nobody wanted the job. Apparently with 2025 coming somebody else wants it.

Yes he is, and most everyone else. Roger evidently is welcome to run the team from beyond the grave. There is absolutely no alternative, at all. We are doomed to have him run the team until he doesn't want to anymore. Like Joe Paterno and Penn State. It borders on mania.

So Kawi is the only issue around the US MXdN team every year?

In all fairness, Decoster isn’t the only one picking the team, nor his he the only decision maker on the team,

He is an all time legend of the sport and is THE MAN. But this is beyond ridiculous now. Kawasaki will not support the MxDN with him in power. Far too many good riders are out of consideration every year. Webb going on a MX2 is a direct result of us not having choices. Good on Webb for going I guess, but Roger has to get the hell out. We need an independent team manager not tied to a manufacturer.

Anybody whom is worthy of this position is somehow attached to a manufacturer so that’s won’t fix anything. Roger is 80 years old and is probably done after this year anyway. But to say Kawi won’t go because of him, what do you say to the number of times RV went? I’m pretty sure he rode Kawi’s. Kawi isn’t going because they don’t have a rider to send. There are many people one can argue against for this position, but Roger is not one of them.

Roger DeCoster is the reason America races the Motocross des Nations and has a Team USA. If everything was left to the manufacturers with their short sighted, penny pinching team managers, there would not be a Team USA.

Roger is a leader with passion for the sport that drives the industry. His understanding of all the facets of motocross goes far beyond anyone in the paddock. Yes, there's other industry leaders with a great passion for the sport like Mitch Payton, Bobby Regan, Dave Arnold, or Bobby Hewitt to name a few that can pick-up the ball as a Team USA leader when DeCoster decides to retire.

Until the time RD retires, his accomplishments as a racing champion, MX & SX title winning team manager and winningest MXdN team manager has earned the respect of every racer chosen to be part of Team USA and more importantly has earned the admiration of his adopted country to represent them on the biggest stage of motocross despite the infighting drama.

If it was Roger that “made the call’ to CW2 to race MX2…?

Well, if that’s the case…there’s a lot of you that probably need to go EABOD. 🤣

Roger still doing this at 80, is a prime example of American culture at its finest.  It indeed is time for him to step aside , and bring a breath of fresh air in . Rc4 , js7, aldon , fuck anyone at this point man.

Yes legendary, icon certainly, current ..... not in the fucking least. Certainly deserves all the respect, admiration in the world, as far as handling current 20 yr olds - when his peak was 50 years ago....I don't know. As far as managing a des nations team when he currently works for a competing team in the usa nationals and sx series, that is not expected to be functional in the day and age of multi million dollar international investments and industry. Gee Ford let your employees work for a Chevy manager for a week once a year, how would that work? This is truly nuts.

The majority of times its a combination of different teams  teaming up for this race so don't think that's a valid point? What this race stands for is supposed to negate all that as it once did.
