He's awful
I think we are extremely fortunate to have the greatest motocross racer of all time and his arch rival adding their thoughts and color to our enjoyment of the broadcasts of our beloved sport. And I think those who are too ungrateful and stupid to enjoy having their commentary as a continued part of that sport simply reveal how petty, self-important and small-minded they are.
Oh 100%…To your point it’s a lot like wheel barrows, what I mean by that is if you’ve ever pushed a wheel barrow with a flat tire in the mud, you’ll know just how tricky these ruts they’re trying to balance in can be.

Hasn't there always been this argument that they need to "dumb things down" for the average person or, say, first-time viewers to understand what's going on? But if that's the case, why doesn't James talk to you like you're a toddler?
"Well.. to your point, the track is actually really hard to pass on and the reason that is is because the track conditions are challenging."
I don't think he is the greatest but I also think people go too far when they say they have to mute the broadcast because of him. The only thing I don't understand is how much better he sounds in interviews or on podcasts, so much more relaxed and usually with more insight. He has some weekends here and there where he seems more relaxed and the difference is definitely noticable imo.
A wise guy once said “something something knuckle draggers don’t even know him” 😀
Way way way to monotone, Stew and Adam both, hearing JB and Adam in the booth puts me to sleep.
If Ricky could be as relaxed as he is on the podcast with Ryan, he’d silence most critics. He appears to act a little nervous on the SX broadcasts.
Being on TV is stressful for many, I know I couldn’t do it. Public speaking has always gave me anxiety. Not worth complaining about….
Lol. This isn't analogous to that in any way. Not talking about whether I like the guy or not. I'm talking about his performance.
He doesn't know how to neatly package what he is trying to say and also do it on the fly. I'm not
talking grammatically either. I could give a rats ass about that. James's grammar is far from perfect but I love his delivery and the point he is trying to make 99% of the time.
The "color" in a color commentator is referring to their persona btw.
Agreed !
Again, it’s not an easy gig for a lot of people. He’s doing it good enough to keep his job, but he is capable of much better delivery.
It's not surprising that the guy who thinks college courses are a scam writes "play a roll"....
What could "creates him stumbling and drags on the point vs his punchline being sufficient" possibly mean? A punchline is part of a joke. Is he supposed to be telling jokes? This is basically unintelligible.
So boiled down, we need to get rid of RC, DeCoster, and DC? Anyone else?
RC is a great speaking off-the-cuff especially when he is shit talking. I like his podcasts and events like the podcast mashup where he is comfortable, cocky, and funny. He's had some of the best lines I've ever heard when he's shit talking.
He is not the same on the broadcasts. Seems like a different RC. He's very stiff, stilted, and awkward. He doesn't blend well with the other hosts and sometimes he's a half a lap behind in his comments. I'm not sure why. He seems to fall back on personal anecdotal stories on the broadcast which I'm over. Wish he would just talk about the guys on the track.
