I suggest a ratchet wrench over the t handle it will come in handy 1000 times over before that very specific t handle.

I don't understand the bitching about the exhaust bolts. Everyone makes it sound like it's some major job getting the exhaust header bolts off. It's super easy, regular t handle on the clutch side and then a few turns on the stator side with a box or open end wrench, and then you can reach in and unthread it the rest of the way with your fingers. No special tools needed.
Yeah, I didn’t think it was a big deal to put my PC pipe on, either. 🤷🏻♂️
I used a Husky ratchet wrench.

Agreed, I was ready for a real fight and was like, these folks never worked on cars if they think this was difficult. I had more trouble with the stupid kawi side numberplate hooks than the header lol.

What spring rates are you lightweight guys running? I'm 160 lbs and it feels stiff to me. I know it will break in some but I feel like I need to go down a rate or two. Set my sag at 104 and I had about 48mm of free sag and the shock is on the loose side. I had to go softer front and rear on compression to get some comfort but track was dry, hard, and choppy.
19-23 slip on fit the 24-25?
No sir.
Do any of you lovely people know if there any updated maps with the latest iteration of the app?
I still haven’t found an answer to if the new wider parameters on the ‘25 are specific to the ‘25 ECU or if it is an app change that can be applied to the ‘24 as well. I’m running the Chav map and my bike bogs off idle when it’s cold.
Mine does too. Zero issues after a warm up though.
Good to know it’s not just me. I do find it odd though. Never had that on any of my previous KX 450s.
Does any one have a picture of a over sized tank on the 24? Either Acerbis or IMS.
I have the acerbis tank. It’s off my 21 and it fit fine. The upper tank shroud bolts are kind of hard to get in if you don’t do them first. Looks like a nut buster but I’ve honestly never had that problem.
What do we think a 24 450x w/ around 20-25 hours should go for? 5500-6k?
I wouldn’t take less than 6 , but then again you’ll only get what ppl are willing to pay
Pit Row
Well if anyone is looking in NC. Just tore my ACL so looking to cash in.
How are you liking the Bills pipe?
Performance wise it’s a big improvement over stock in the low and mid range. I bought it used so I don’t want to bad mouth bills too much, but the craftsmanship and fit are lacking. Silencer hits the tire and the weld on the resonance chamber mount is cracking already.
Well my FMF hits the tire too. Very annoying.
No issues with my PC.
PSA.
Next time you change your filter. Check your voltage regulator for "slop". Its nothing you can tighten up with the fastener, you have to "build" up the washer insert that goes in the rubber grommet that isolates vibration to the regulator.
My fix was to slide heat shrink around the washer, heat and re install. All snug now.
First time I took my subframe off and reinstalled, I noticed it and tried 17 different combinations to get rid of the slop.
Wild ass loose, yep, first annoying wtf Kawasaki issue
What do you mean by slop?
According to Swapmoto's latest review, the changes only apply to the 2025 model. I don't see how that's possible considering it appears to be all identical componentry but that's what they said.
Check part numbers, if you look, you will see the ECU is a different part number for 2025. Its probably programmed to accept a wider range from the tuner app. The stock boxes can be jailbroke on the 2024. The 2025 stock ECU will probably cost more than a Vortex.
I did not see that. Makes sense though.
