New Triumph TF250X - Any new owners out there? Initial thoughts?

Has anyone else figured out any other parts that carry over? Curious about throttle tube, anyone know what throttle cam theyre using? I would imagine it may be the same as the Austrians. I've used lock on grips for years but recently hopped on a 25' sxf that had Renthal 1/2 waffles and forgot how plush they feel.

Awesome good to know. I was doing some reading, looks like with the newer KTM's works connection says to use the stock throttle cam with their throttle tube, same with some of the ODI stuff I think too.

Ktm rear sprockets, apparently front wheel from Ktm with Yamaha spacers I’ve heard, rear wheel unknown, Kawasaki/yamaha kyb springs change over,  works connection has a holeshot device out. And caps for master cylinders.. twin air already has filters available.
Ktm/brembo levers fit so any aftermarket levers that fit those should work.

Also found out after my last oem parts order to have some extra stuff around. The oem air filter they sell for $19 is a twin air still. So $19 for a pre oiled twin air filter is a bonus.

Yeah I just ordered 3 twin air filters so we should be good for a bit there… now I gotta shell out the $ for that carbon skid plate it seems.

Just got my WC throttle tube, No cams that came with the kit match the stock one. However Triumph sells the OEM cam for $3.

Just got the Pro Carbon skid plate installed. They did an amazing job. Fit and quality is on point. Two weeks from the UK isn’t bad for delivery either.

Doesn’t look like any drain holes cut for oil changes? How easy on and off is it?

Yeah no holes, isn’t the easiest as the bracket is just held in by the skid plate bolts however, it took me 2 minutes to throw on.

All this sounds pretty good for a manufacturers first foray in the dirt. I was checking one out at a shop, parts and build quality look really nice. Got me thinking about selling the ‘18 250xc, favorite bike ever, and getting one.

Triumph even designed an AirTag holder into the gas tank😂I’ve been mounting air tags on my bikes and other motorsports items for a little while as a cheap form of tracking. I ordered a mount for this one and where I stuck it ended up not working out, so I’ve just been sticking it here and taking it out when washing until I remember to order another mount. Just thought it’s pretty funny how perfectly it fits in the recess for the mounting boltIMG 3535 1

Chris is fantastic I’ve used him for the last 8 years for both moto and snocross stuff. He’s a top notch guy

I reached out to Hinson about 3 weeks ago, they said 4-6 weeks for their kits. I know another user had their bike at Rekluse to get mock ups for their stuff. Based on them stating that they’ll have to produce stuff for them I would assume that KTM group parts don’t work, and their stuff would be the only brand I would’ve thought even had a chance of working

Hey guys, more A/market parts now arriving by the looks.

image 432.png?VersionId=EiCXlZBg

I've heard that HGS also now have an Exhaust system available.

Have many of tried the Wifi module and additional maps?

Finally, that's good to hear. I did go get the wifi module. Did some testing with all the maps and spoke to some people close with some of the Triumph stuff. We found that the Akropovic map had the best feeling even with the stock exhaust equipped. It got rid of the "lull" down low and crisped up the throttle response. At this point I'm so impressed with it I am going to hold off on an exhaust for the time being.

I was told by 2 sources (rekluce as one) that the clutch is similar to a current Kawasaki..When the assembled a Auto Clutch for my bike, as I understand, they used Kawi plates and steels from their Kawi inventory, They used different thickness plates to correctly stack into the Triumph hub.

No idea on how many of each as the Triumph hub was a different height from the Kawi,=.

Haven't heard if their offering (Full CNC Assembly) is ready yet.

Browns TF 250X looked a little different at LL.  Thing was very fast.

Thats because it was a Munn Racing KTM 350SXF and not a triumph

My bike is stamped as assembled in Thailand so last time I checked that wasn't India. Sure its not Hinkley but Triumph does have their own manufacturing in Thailand, not outsourced to Bajaj. Everyone seems to have a weird thing about Bajaj in the motocross world but as far as I'm aware its only ever been proven that the manufacturers that work with them outsource small entry level street bike production there...

Assembled in Thailand, yes, assembled. Dig deeper, Bajaj plays a large roll in the TF250-X

I’m more than willing to be enlightened if you’ve got a more reputable source than “trust me I know.” Not even trying to be a jerk saying that but for years people have whined about KTM/Bajaj auto without having any sort of actual information behind it, and now that Triumph has their mx bike they have the same complaints and claim that Bajaj is pulling the strings behind the scenes (because of an existing relationship relating to street bikes) to produce what is “essentially an aluminum frame KTM” as Bajaj is the puppet master behind the scenes, with no sort of substantial source.

Bajaj has absolutely zero involvement in any Triumph bike other than the speed 400 and scrambler 400

I had no clue they were going to send me one. Showed up about 3-4 weeks after I bought the bike.

I don’t own one, but I did get a chance to try and race one at the Riverglade Pro National in Canada. The first time I rode it was free practice that morning. I was very surprised how much I liked it. I was immediately somewhat comfortable. It was a bone stock bike, no suspension set up, stock gearing, stock exhaust. The only thing I would change about it would be the gearing as it was sluggish in the deep ruts, some corners first gear was almost needed. But other than that, super solid. It handled great in the ruts and corners.

Hey yall. I just picked up my brand new TF250X yesterday. I was looking to get some quality Torx wrenches for it but I cannot find what sizes I need anywhere. Not listed in the manual whatsoever. Any of you guys know which sizes the bolts are? I know Michael Lindsey said there's only 2 sizes.

I also didnt receive a stand either. Only things I got with the bike were that little triangle stand and the unvented airbox cover. and a dinky keychain lol

Listen to the Keefer podcast with Anchor Tape Corie, lots of great tips in there including a referral to what Torx to get. T30 is the most used and T47 is sprocket bolts, I swear I thought T45 is used somewhere too but I forget. Honestly buying a set of T handles and/or sockets isn’t really much more than buying a few individually so just buy a set
