Xrays and Dr visit on Monday and were told they need to have the totally elective surgery ASAP..... and by ASAP we mean a month from now after 3 more races.... which only leaves 3 months to recover from a very minor procedure..... and haiden said on motoxpod on Monday night after that appointment that the procedure wouldn't prevent him from doing the race.... but it's complicated..... and star isn't supporting the race this year despite supporting it for years and tomac must not have gotten the memo this year since he came back in part to audition for the race.... and it was widely reported that Deegan would go if eli did.... presumably with star's support.... seriously though haiden really really really wanted to go but since him and his family are so opposed to making waves and speaking out they have respectfully gone along with the decision that was totally made by star despite it being the opposite of what their golden goose wanted.

These clowns really think we're this stupid. I don't really care if he doesn't want to go, but stop treating everyone like they're retarded and just own up to your decision.

None of what you said above is an accurate expression of what Haiden or Star has said. It's the exact opposite. Haiden said his wrist is fine and he can race, but that their doctor advised the pins be removed sooner rather than later. There's a small window to have that procedure done in time to prepare for the 2025 season, so they are electing to have that done.

It's his career and his and his team's choice. If Chance wants to go with a pre-exsting injury (that, much like your above rant is being over dramatized for full effect whrnnin actuality Chance has said he feels 100%) then that's his choice as well.

Everyone is a disappointed that Haiden isnt going. We wanted to see him face off against Europe's best. But the responses have been over the top and ridiculous.  Especially in light of the fact that his choice has no meaninful impact in anyone's day to day llife other than Haiden's.

I am not disappointed he's not going.  I am disappointed he and his camps lies are not being called out by the media.  Yes he's fast and increases the odds of a US victory, but just like a Kardashian, the Deegan family persona is not who I would select to represent the US.

At the same time, it is also BS that the MXoN is a huge money making event and the money isn't shared more broadly with the participants.  I can't blame a rider in a dangerous sport for not wanting to add another race weekend, for free, to their season.  Props to those that do, like AP.  But also recognize that is also a calculated move to increase their popularity and market value.

JT, Weege, and Mattes called them out in the review and pulp pods.

JT is by far the best current media guy when it comes to stuff like this, he never sugar coat anything.

We have two camps in the media now, the ones that call this BS and the ones that try to cover it up.

One thing that seems weird about ppl bringing up the money is that deegan is probably the one rider than would make money by going to mxon. The videos, merch, sponsorships etc would more than pay the 5k that riders say it costs them to go when they have to pay out of pocket.

Besides that though the deegan name is a brand. Them going overseas to ride and have new fans get the opportunity to watch haiden ride in person and sign autographs would pay dividends for the rest of his career. Europe has almost the same size market as the US and tapping into that would be massive for the brand. You just know that theres tons of kids over there that would want to meet him that will never get the chance to go to the us.

I just dont see that him inevitably trying to go to ironman next year will be as good of an investment as it would be going to europe. Its just a fact of geography that not as many foreign fans will be at a US mxon vs overseas. Going to matterly literally would have been like making a massive investment into the overseas advertising department of their brand. I just dont see how even if he had to pay for himself to go that he doesnt come out of it way up, with it compounding more and more as time goes on.

Lotta millionaires out there crying about tens of thousands of dollars. Pretty typical of millionaires though.

Potentially getting trounced by a Euro would be bad for his brand.  it's as simple as that.

I highly doubt it

Nobody wants to be on the bad side of Monster Energy. Nobody dares too. Same for Star, same for the Deegan social media machine and it’s social media paid to promote army of BOTS liking every post.

The motocross media will 98% stick to the Monster, Feld, Star, Deegan press release(s) narratives.

The part I always find funny, we have privateers who will race under Guam or Puerto Rico and payout of pocket but when a factory rider gets selected its about the money. (or lack of)  Almost everyone on this site pays to race, we buy our bikes and gear, but if a top guy is asked to do a race without a payday its a reason to back out. And to say they are paid to race SX and Mx and should not do the MXDN, I say so what I'm paid to manage a weld shop and to do certified welding. Not to ride my bike on the weekends, so if I get injured I am also putting my career on the line.

Farmer...you and I agree on a good number of things.    As far as Deegan...."sensitive about him"....hardly.   If you read my posts about him, You'd see that  I don't care for the dude/bro/sick speak and I absolutely do not follow his or really any of the top guys social media.   (other than Barcia, McElrath...and even then it's just youtube videos.)      Bottom line, I couldn't care less about Deegan outside of his racing skills/talent.

Seems to be the same situation with Jett.  Some people want to turn my posts into something they're not.   I'm not a Jett hater and I'm not a Deegan nut-swinger.      I'm making fun of the lunatic gushing fans (ie: Jett) and the unhinged anti-fans (ie: Deegan).     That's all there is too it.

Carry on...

I apologize for not reading through all 13 pages of this and forgive me if this has already been brought up.  How likely is it that he didn't have a choice to go even if he wanted to?  We've seen him ride all summer long and the kid absolutely rides with a chip on his shoulder (which makes the racing exciting).  Send him to MXoN where he is riding for his country and the chance to claim the best in the world title and he either cleans house or he crashes spectacularly trying.  I don't see an in between with him in that scenario.  I would say there's a fair to good chance his employer realizes that and doesn't want to risk their guy getting injured.

Nowhere near the same thing.  Racing is their job.  Would you travel to Matterley Basin for the week to weld for free?

Did you know there actually is a World Skills Olympics, where you go and compete against other countries in a trade? Everything varying from Hairdressing to Brick Laying..

My big brother went to Taiwan and represented Australia in 'Fitting and Machining' in the late 90's..

Didn't get paid.

We ride for fun, Deegan doesn't ride for fun, or do social media for fun, he has one motivation...

Yeah it's a cool event and ya gotta like win the regional comp then the National, So we always sarcastically refer to him as the 'gold medalist' haha

"I'll get the gold medalist to help" "Oh look out the gold medalist is here" haha

Not to hijack this excellent thread haha but it's pretty funny cause he lives around the corner (Same farm) and the Plumber he became mates with when he was a "team leader" a few years later lives over the road.. Also one of their best mates actually won the World Gold for Bricklaying So if I ever need to get anything done I'm in pretty good hands haha

I'm glad to see there are a lot of American on this thread that know what true patriotism is and are calling out the Deegans for their phoney cynical version.

The United States is a great country and the behavior of cheap profiteers like the Deegans needs to be called out.

Guys, he had to get some stuff taken out of his wrist. When Tomac decided not to go, that sealed the deal.

As I am disappointed he's not attending MXDN.

I find it extremely funny from some people who hate him so much ever since he entered the pro scene, now they are hating him for not attending, you would think they would be happy not seeing him out there, it's more like they are disappointed that he's not racing which would make them fans.
