Hijack request: Is there a solution to record (like a DVR) the race content? We can never watch live and often if we start watching later cannot rewind to the start of the telecast. Then we have to wait until it is over and then wait for the delay for Peacock to post the "Replay". I would buy a DVR if there is such a thing for internet TV. We are watching with Amazon FireTV Cube version 2 with 16GB local storage, but I don;t think the local storage is used in this case.
I,turned on the broadcast yesterday halfway thru the 1st 450 moto. I was able to rewind all way to the start of the broadcast. Earlier in the Supercross season I could not rewind for a few races, then one weekend I could pause and rewind. I use Peacock app through Roku. Make sure the Peacock app is updated and your FireTv cube is updated? Uninstall the Peacock app from the Cube then reinstall the app. In might work. Good luck.
The old NBCSports app would post each moto individually right after it finished, so you could watch moto 1 while moto 2 was still happening. Peacock's delayed replay is a definite step backwards.
Yes - it works for maybe 2 hours of rewind, but if we start like halfway through 250 moto2, then we cannot rewind all the way, and in 450 moto2 never. It's more important now that Eli is back because the woman is a big big fan.
SX is no problem because I have DirecTV with an HD DVR and it is always live, so we have a full recording whenever we want to start. I have an over-the-air DVR as a backup for when it is on NBC. When outdoors is on NBC that is nice but it is only 2 motos usually, not all 4.
In addition, I always was to replay significant moments and do slomo. The Peacock FF/RW always gets hung up and then I have to back out and start over. A DVR to a local hard disk is the way to go.
There was a WIndows app called PlayOn that would record a screen capture on a PC, but I think they got sued for DRM violations.

Been so nice not having Will Shriekstian for a few rounds
"Will Shriekstian" that made me laugh. Nice lady, but......
I know this may not go over well but I do get a little tired of weege screaming all the time because when something big happens you are so accustomed to him screaming it just takes away from it lol. Love it though. Need to get MC in there for a few rounds
Watched/listened to it live while driving home from the “Vegas to Reno” (won Over-60) and I’m always STOKED when James is on the broadcast…you can literally hear his smile. His excitement and stoke are sooooo good for the new and old viewers.
Then there’s A.C. …damn, that kid…it’s like he was meant to be a sports announcer.
Budds Creek was a benchmark for how the races should be covered…even with the few mistakes made (JT’s commentary audio replay over the live announcement, etc.)…it was an excellent show.
I think Peacock does a great job with the broadcast! My only Gripe is when you rewind it goes WAY too far back, the fast forward and the rewind are uncontrollable
Agree on rotating in past greats for some rounds like they did a couple of years ago... Broc Glover, Jeremy, etc. I think all of those guys did a great job.
I looked in to it once. My wife likes to watch Figure Skating. Peacock has a lot of figure skating program, but they only show it live, and don't allow a replay. Which sucks because figure skating is a worldwide event, and sometimes the live broadcasts start at like 4am.
Anyhoooo...I think I found a device that you can hook to your computer and the HDMI on your Roku to record. The problem is, you can't set a timer for it. You have to be present to turn on the stream on your streaming device and begin the recording process. At least, that was the best option I could find, but didn't really solve my problem, so I didn't get it.
Forget everything I said about Peacock coverage last week. Christ sakes could they get Katie Osborne more airtime.
The outdoors going to peacock is so nice. Best coverage/access we have ever had. Can watch live, delayed, or later. All races saved to one location. Commercial free live coverage, and commercial free races if watched later. The after race coverage has been cool also.
Sure they miss some stuff and the announcing can sometimes be not the best, but overall it's a pretty good thing we fans got going right now. IMO.
Try a different platform. On my phone I cannot go all the way to the beginning if I try to when Live is 2 hours in or so. On my Apple TV it allows me to. Same account, just different hardware.
Then you watch MXGP and see how the racing should actually be covered!!
Yeah, I don't agree. I have nothing bad to say about MXGP coverage. But I don't see it as any better either. It has its flaws also. Plus it cost more and it's harder to get set up to watch on my TV.
Agree to disagree bug time!! I like watching the actuall racing and the battles without a bunch of filler bs that we see week after week on on peacock!! Paul malin calls the race alone and is far superior as an announcer IMO!! If your into the stories and watching midpack riders on screen when battles are going on at the front than peacock has ya covered!! In the mxgp package Malin will tell the camera crew to go to the battles if needed
Pit Row
they need someone who isnt retarded in charge of the split screen racing. When the leaders are battling for positions and we are watching some guy in 11th from estonia riding by himself because he has a cool story is really annoying
We need MC for a few rounds, as long as everyone promises not to ask him about Jett because you can see he doesn't like being asked about jett.
To add on this, there are more stories than just Harri's, there are more people than the guys in the top 10 ish. Tell those stories, show battles outside of the top 20 just trying to score a point to make some money. Show the LCQ's on tv, we do it on supercross, why not add it on to outdoors.
It costs more if you live in the US compared to Peacock, but you also have a lot more content.
Watching the US series also costs a lot if you're not from the US. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but it was +/- $200.
Thanks! I tried watching the SMX round1 on Peacock on my AppleTV 2nd gen. We watched the first motos then went out to "dinner" (geriatric dinner) and came back and were able to rewind to wherever we wanted. The yellow bar did not indicate the full telecast was available, but almost all of it. So from now on I will use AppleTV as opposed to FireCube.
Not that these options are terrible or analyzing stuff because the rewind is so bad. So when my Tivo OTA recorder caught the race I could use a hard disk DVR to analyze Jett's pass on Tomac. I could not figure out how he could do that but with the DVR and step-by-step and a friend's insight I think we have it figured out.
