I believe this is new from Davi's interview with Gypsy Tales?
Canyonbound Custom Storage & RV Park
Millsaps is supposed to be involved with one opening up between Havasu and Kingman can't remember the name but it looks like it's at an RV park.
When Canyon closed they had the intent to reopen a new location but, it’s not sounding like anything is happening with that, unfortunately.
Looks like it'll be an amazing facility from everything I've seen. Sucks it'll be damn near impossible to use in the summer time. But I guess that's most places in AZ.

I'm still surprised nobody has tried to get anything going in the Prescott valley area. Seems like the weather and landscape would be perfect for moto.
There is a pretty nice MX track in Prescott but it's not open to the public FCA MX built by Dirtcraft MX tracks.
https://www.facebook.com/dirtcraftmxtracks/ scroll down to the Sept 29 2015 Pics to see the original build not sure why it's not open i think it's some church organization that own's it. Looks fun.
I’m surprised a track hasn’t popped up near Fort Mcdowell. There is off roading areas in almost every direction around there.
The shame of it is it's about doing in vintage racing (old bikes and old dudes). Neither of the remaining tracks seem interested in building a vintage friendly (think 70's era) track and while I thoroughly appreciate the events at Blythe, it's hard to justify investing in the sport for just a few races a year.
The truth is AZ has a small MX population. The tracks dont get huge turnouts. And AZ MX riders are overly critical of tracks (my generalized opinion) which doesn't help.
AZ riders do not want to drive. The vast majority live in the Valley (Phoenix) and all the nice areas are high elevation (like Prescott). They complain if they have to drive that far.
Prescott had a public track for a long time. It closed (Verde Valley)
Fort McDowell Area had a track, Grindingstone. Everyone knows the story about how it closed from a kid getting hurt.
It's hard to build a track for the Vintage guys because some want no more than 4" of air for their 4" suspension while others want modern jumps, lol
Verde valley mx was in cottonwood not prescott. Same people that ran canyon ran verde valley mx. There was talks of them trying to reopen verde valley after canyon closed but who knows what truth there is to that. Would be awesome though as its a mile from my house and most of the track, tower and lights are still there. Sucks how dead az is for mx now.
I drive by coming and going from work and it just sucks seeing it there being unused.
Definitely a bummer. Now that I have a stark I can sneak down there and rip around a little bit.
Az tracks are few and far between. I recently moved out here and I’ve never saw such a small Moto population!
Anyone know anything about moto grande? Checked it out today, everything is still there just blocked off
If you are from Arizona & looking for a nearby track you could check out shorty’s sports park on the border in Blythe. It’s sick. Little sandy! Lots of gp’s & few moto practices a year. It isn’t open a whole lot but he went from 1 Mx practice to 5 last year so hopefully we can get more going! It’s just hard to make any money if there isn’t x amount of riders.
Shorty’s should have a schedule coming out soon. I’d assume it’ll be open September ? Worst case October.

Found this video of the FCA track in Prescott. Shame it's not open to the public.
We have a horrendous track here In Yuma called Happy Track which is open a couple Saturday nights a month in the winter if you sacrifice a goat.
I’m supposed to be moving to flagstaff for a pretty awesome job soon, if it works out I’ll open a track somewhere between there and Phoenix so we can get something going with some decent weather
Pit Row
That's a huge bummer. With a warm climate and so much open desert, you would think the situation would be better. But that's the just the reality of our tiny niche sport.
Pretty strong rumors that grinding stone is opening again in October. I’ll believe it when I see it though. Cost of property and the population growth in AZ makes it difficult to put the money into a new place. Verde has no chance of opening again unless the owner sells the property which he hasn’t been willing to so far. Canyon is on state trust land and the lease was not renewed and the state has no plans to open it for rent again.
I wouldn't expect any new tracks opening around the Phx area, too many residental neighborhoods that won't tolerate the noise and dust are spreading further and further out.
The FCA track isn't really a track. The land owner allows FCA to use the land once a year to do the MX camp for a week. They come in a couple weeks ahead of camp and build the track. There used to be a good selection of tracks, ACP, Motoland, Motogrande, Ocotillo, Canyon, ET, PMP, Grindingstone and Verde Valley were all open at the same time. Those were the good days... the only ones left are ACP and Motoland. '
We lived about 12 minutes from canyon when i was in arizona. Right by the usaa building off the 17. Every time they closed up we would bring out the shovels and the mini gas tiller and and keep some lines and faces cleaned up and keep riding. The uphill set up and down hill triple would get sketchy so we did what we had to to keep from dying.lol
Yeah but do we know what happened? Is it on state land? Looks like a badass track
Private land... New owner has no interest in moto got it cheap and has no problem leaving it sit
Fortunately, the 2 primary tracks in the Phoenix area (Motoland and ACP) are both privately ran on land owned by individuals, and both tracks do a really good job running the tracks. Good prep, good people, good layouts, and really do care about giving the MX that do ride tracks some good options. While it may not be a plethora of tracks to ride, ACP and Motoland change them up frequently and given that they are the only 2 tracks around, they are doing pretty good financially. I'd love to buy Ocotillo and open it back up, but that may just be a pipe dream. That would be a perfect track for some night time riding under the lights.
Can you let the cat out of the bag on where you heard this rumor? 😲
And what about the percentage of this being true and really happening?
Grinding Stone was one of my favorite tracks and about 15 minutes away. Sheeesh, I might break the 06 CRF450 out and ride moto again for the first time in about 15 years!
I grew up racing moto in AZ and miss it. Man those were good times. Haven't owned a bike for years, unfortunately. Racing the Beat the Heat series was always fun in the summer. At one point we had ACP, Speedworld, Canyon, Verde Valley, Air Sarival (wasn't around long), Grindingstone (one of my favorites), ET, Firebird, Motoland, Ocotillo...maybe missing another or two.
I remember as a kid you saw a bike in the bed of a truck all the time. Now it's a complete rarity. SXS's have completely taken over the market it seems.
It's amazing to see neighborhoods practically on top of a lot of these old tracks that used to be in the middle of nowhere (ET and Speedworld) come to mind. I remember thinking to myself how far Speedworld was from where I lived at the time. Now I live less than 10 minutes from it.
I'll never forget having Eli Tomac on his Suzuki 85 blow the doors off of me on that big back stretch at Speedworld with the big tabletop. It was a random weekday afternoon and there was hardly anyone there. Was pretty cool to see him there.
Good times...AZ moto seems to be a shell of what it once was.
Don’t forget Thrasher Land MX out in Glendale… that place was nuts back in the late 80s!
Also for a very brief moment firebird raceway had an MX track.
