Maybe this is common knowledge and I'm just odd man out - seen a few posts about it on the ole social networks (including Matthes) about Zacho filling in per se for the now departed (yes, 450) Marchbanks at ClubMX for the last 3 Nationals of the year.  Is there any truth to this and/or what are the chances of it actually happening?

Nothing against zacho, but Devin Simonson openly said on pulp that he’s open to offers for a fill in ride. He also trains at club, and been doing that for a while.

Nothing against Devin Simonson but he doesn't move the needle in terms of results or press...

Zacho does, however. Especially when you need to replace someone like Marchbanks, who in the eyes of sponsors is a top ten to top five guy.

I thought Zach retired a few years ago with serious  back problems, but he keeps coming up for fill in rides and other types of things. Hmmm. Im confused.

You're right, he did retire from MX and SX full time professional racing. But he has been racing GNCC's on a YZ450 off and on for a couple of seasons now.

12th place

That would be pretty darn respectable. Jumping into the 450 class in fall swing is no joke. I don't see him ffinishing as well as Marchbanks

He tried last season on a YZ250F for AmPro but got hurt.

Did Osborne sell completely out of Club I remember way back when he used to own part of the property?

Wacko Zach-O off the couch is a top 5 guy? DF14 is a class Champ 3 years ago, runner up last year, and struggling for top 5’s this year. Zach-O gets ton of press as a fill in rider, but top 5’s seem unrealistic.

I think ML meant that Marchbanks is a top 5 guy in the eyes of the sponsors. Zacho will get TV time regardless of results, which is good for the sponsors.

Was there a reason their other 450 rider Trevin Nelson didn't ride Washougal after finishing 19th at Springcreek  ?

I'm not sure what kind of program,/support he's on, but he's still racing amateurs so he might be getting ready for Loretta's instead.

So if this happens.. We know that #16 is taken. Everyone assumes we would run either 338 or 116. However, being a past 250/450 National Champion, would it be possible for Zacho to take a single digit number (5, and 8 are available)?

No, he wouldn’t be allowed to take a single digit.

Exactly. The people who are paying the bills for this team to go racing would be excited about Osborne. If the team hit them up and said our replacement for ‘Marchbanks is Simonson, they’d likely still fine the team for being down a rider at consecutive events.

Doesn't Zach ride and train with Savatgy?

Huge Zacho fan, but his speed dropped off big time when he retired.  Most guys say they still have the speed, but just for 1-2 laps, but that didn't seem to be the deal with Zach.  On this seemingly short notice, I don't see him getting in the top 10.  I wish him the best and will be rooting for him.

I just checked and he's racing 250 Pro Sport at Loretta's. He's also the second alternate for Open Pro Sport.

So at Budds Creek we could see Zach, Eli, Webb, Nichols and Roczen?

Imagine if Marchbanks showed up on a PC bike in either class.

I'm telling  my secretary to clear my schedule for that day.

Would be great to see Obsorne out there, but also a big middle finger to Simonson? He’s been training and paying to stay at Club in hopes of this exact opportunity, only for it to get snagged by someone else last minute. The team apparently told Simonson like “hey be ready incase we need you”

Not gonna lie, I'd rather watch Osborne but also I feel for Simonson since opportunities like this are slim for someone like him.
