Is there any update on him?

I would say top 5 to be safe, if I am wrong, that's ok.

Tomac has came back pretty solid in the past

honestly I ain’t expecting much , if hes ready per say cause unlike coop we haven’t seen or heard of Eli back on the bike yet , hes prolly using budds & Ironman as gate drops leading up to the SMX. SMX is prolly when he goona start pressing the issue 

This would also be his first National on the 2023 chassis, so there may be growing pains. 

First mx since 2022 mxon and first race on new gen bike.

First day back on bike tomorrow 

Eli always crushes outdoors; he has that grit. I'd love to see him make them fight for the championship. He is the only one who I think can put the consistent pace down with sexton.

As well as Tomac rode the Hondas back in the day, that better turning YZ might be all he needs to go back to Beast Mode Eli

I would say 3rd, behind Roczen and Sexton

I’d like to see him podium but between coming back from injury, not racing in months, first time on the new chassis in an outdoor race, and Father Time - 5-10 would be more realistic.

I feel ya but ehhh idk bout leading motos , different circumstances from wht Kenny did last yr. last yr he only showed up ( mind u kenny wasent coming off an injury ) against who 🤔 Jett , AP , Dylan, Harlan , marchbanks & TY , on top of tht it took Jett cross rutting going up hill for Kenny to get the lead. this yr u got chase & hunter battling for a title , with ando & a lil more improved AP , JCOOP & coop coming back with more prep

6-10. I think we need to accept that the final races will be to "race into shape". We know Tomac is an animal, but he made comments about arm pump back in SX. So coming off a thumb surgery, I would imagine there will be a lot of rebuilding in that arm. Will essentially 1 month be enough to get back into race shape? 

I'm not saying he will, but would you really be surprised if he holeshots a moto and runs away with it while Sexton moves up from his 28th place start? This is Eli freaking Tomac.

Your are completely nuts if you think Tomac will finish around7-10th in this field. Even if he would have one leg he would get top 6 at the very minimum.

nah brotha with all the factors involved I just don’t see it , not till SMX cause Eli goona have more prep time leading up to SMX but specifically budds & Ironman 🤔 nahhh coach 

edit : I just re read his ig he said he’s hoping for budds , hes not 100% stamping he goona be at budds , thts why I said in my OG comment above im not expecting much till we get to SMX 

He should be able to podium but we've also seen him get like 8th after no injury. So who knows.

Just let him get a decent holeshot, and we'll see what happens.

Won’t matter

When Tomac Returns ---- he'll be ready to compete, and will take what comes as he tests his injury and craft.  He's not a fool, nor are his people. IMO he will approach this like he did his Achillies injury.   

No one can know where he will finish, only where they hope he will finish.  I hope he wins going away however I'm not a fool either, usually.
