do you think these will sell here. we went to a new dealer here and he told us dealing withy KTM is a pain in the ass. he told us they want him to buy 5 other bikes before they will give him one, seems stupid to me
The 350 will be the perfect bike for the average moto enthusiast.
everybody has lost sight of that original fact i guess.
i mean if yer into trail riding and play riding then the bigger the better, 500 or 550 would be choice. super moto...bigger is better. desert....well.
now a 350 2 stroke would be something to look into but i doubt if the ktm 4 banger will be a big deal.
i could be wrong though...say where are the 50 units they have to have in the states so alessi can kick ass. and i still say he will not be racing a 350 ktm until i see him on one at hangtown practice...

People forget how huge KTM is offroad here in the states already
If the idea was to save the track from the 450s, that's going to take a rules change. And it wouldn't be the first time a rules change just happened to make every body go out and buy new technology. That always rubs me the wrong way, but serious racers seem to upgrade almost every season anyway. The problem is that the old bikes become (even more) worthless.
But it couldn't be bad to bring parity back for the 2strokes, IMHO. So that means raising the 2stroke displacement, or dropping the 4stroke displacement. Since most of the fleet out there is thumpers, raising the 2stroke limit would create fewer defunct bikes. Large bore 2strokes are fun.

Is KTM putting the new frame/linkage on the 450 as well for 2011?
As a side note, if we want to get really ridiculous, lets remember how RV used to get some of the same lap times as the 450s outdoors back when he was on 250Fs only a couple years ago, let's also not forget how he spanked everyone at the MXDN at Budds Creek (on an apparently "underpowered 250F"). Now with that being said, put James Stewart on a 350, or more realistically, another small guy like Alessi (who will be on one) and i don't see why they couldn't do serious damage on it. One more thing, over in Europe the bike is being raced by Cairoli who is no slouch and neither is his competition, and we all know whats happening over there already.
Have you been to any local track in America on any weekend? Tell me what color you see...
