I have posted a few times about my involvement in law enforcement on here. I’m not going to sit here and act high and mighty, but What happened today just blows my mind in not only seeing an assassination attempt, but how this even took place. I’m a firearms instructor for my department and I also have certifications to use a SPR (special purpose rifle). I’ve worked hundreds of special events, jointly with federal agencies as well, and have been on over watch duty many times. The sheer incompetence displayed today was unbelievable. I can’t wait to hear the explanations because I can’t fathom with how well trained these bureaus are, they could not spot a threat on a very obvious elevated platform so close.

I haven’t read the five pages of posts but just wanted to say to my American friends that I hope your country comes out of this stronger. I’m flabbergasted that a person in the crowd saw the shooter climbing up to that roof with a gun and tried to warn law enforcement and this still happened.
Today flipped a switch in me. I will no longer be quietly frustrated and disgusted with the direction this country and world is headed.
