Hey Guys,

Many new Triumph TF250X owners out there?

First owner impressions?

Looking like a fast, quality machine?

Made a post on here about my initial thoughts. 5 hours of time on it and so far I am very impressed.

I have just at 5 hours on mine.  It is definitely a solid bike.  Engine feels very KTM-ish.  Maybe a bit less lowend, and a smidge more overrev.  The quickshift is cool.  Suspension is always rider dependent, but with some clicker adjustments, it is very rideable for me.  It handles good, to me the front end feels a little light in corners.  But it is a very nimble ride.  Brakes and clutch are top notch.  The one thing I didn't totally take into consideration is there are not a lot of parts and/or aftermarket stuff for it yet.  But overall, I am super happy I took the chance on it.

with the vauge/light front end I kept the fork height at 5mm but raised the sag to 102 and it seemed to help a bunch. I am still on the stock clicker settings as well.

I was wondering this. But I’m surprised as there are multiple race teams with them with lots of aftermarket parts on their machines. Are those parts just not available to public yet?

Yep that’s the only downside. I’ve been on the hunt for a skid plate but they just aren’t available yet. Bunch of oem stuff available but as far as aftermarket goes it’s little to none.

Huge fan of mine with 7 hours. Very comfortable bike, very stable. Lacking a bit down low but mid to top pulls. Definitely sucks with the lack of aftermarket support so far. Can’t believe Acerbis/UFO/Cycra still haven’t released plastic kits. I just want a color match front number plate to look better underneath graphics! OEM wear parts (like air filter and oil change kits) are very reasonably price too.

I've been playing with sag and fork height, better, but I still notice it.  I'm running a 49 rear sprocket and really like that.  I also broke down and bought the Akrapovic and put it on during my last ride.  Seemed to make the power smoother, and stronger from mid on up.  Definitely a fun bike to ride though !

Hey! I have about 9.3 hours on mine and have raced it in a few local races, it was the 2nd one in Cali! So far it’s great I enjoy all of it, it turns smooth like butter and seems to always have power. The frame is my favorite part about it though. Couple of changes I did is 1 up on the rear sprocket to 49 both swoll and savatgy run this too. I got the full akrapovic, WiFi module, guts seat, I let works connection barrow my bike to make the holeshot device for it so those should be out soon! So we got one of those, anchor tape, front brake disc guard, and if anyone here is looking for carbon parts like a skid plate check out pro carbon racing they got me a skid plate for mine. And we got a Hinson clutch as well as it’s in a local shop getting a kit suspension. It’s very easy to get parts for these most companies are open to selling them you just have to email or call them because they aren’t up on websites. But if you are considering one I’d say go for it best 250 I’ve ridden so far.

Some parts aren’t available like the parts the US factory triumph racing team and the European triumph factory racing team run those bikes have parts we can’t buy but lots of companies have the parts what worked for me was calling and emailing all of them and they are usually always open to selling them to you even if they aren’t listed parts! It’s how I got most of mine for my build.

Haven't got one but saw several at an evening mx on Wednesday. Looked and sounded great on the track, and I was impressed with the build quality when I had a good look at one that was parked up.

Rekluce is soon to release their clutch products for the Triumph. Was over there for a day a few weeks ago with my bike letting them get fitment information and left with a prelinary auto clutch setup as I dislike engine breaking. Ryan and Charles with Rekluce, were very helpful and it was very educational. To many years riding 2-strokes. On my bike I also went to the 49 rear sprocket. The suspension is stock valving, however FC reveiwed my weight and skills and we went lighter on the springs. 9 hours on mine and after further riding, valving changes will be evaluated.

Just spoke with Sunstar.. Looks like the rear sprocket is the same as the Austrian stuff. Not sure about the front sprocket though.

Love mine so far, best turning bike I've ridden.  First ride on it and I set some of my best sector times on Strava and the fit and finish is second to none.

Does anyone know if the Austrian DID rims will work with the Triumph hub?  Looking to try and run a 110/90 tire on a 2.15 rim.

The listing only listing for a Renthal front sprocket I’ve found says it’s proprietary to triumph but it could just be a listing mistake for all I know

Btw, I Haven’t heard anything beyond getting a GET for it…to control the engine braking.

Did the idle adjustment help?

Learned one frustrating thing today. There are no aftermarket ECU options for this bike. The standard ECU could be tuned if you could get the right access...I can't at the moment.

Vortex hasn't seen one yet and it's a different pin connector than any of their current models. Meaning they will be at least 3 months out...probably closer to 5 or 6.

GET has an aftermarket, fully accessible ECU that could be put out for this bike. However, Triumph hasn't signed off on it yet and they have to per the product development agreement on this bike.

Is this bike a test bike, or your personal bike?

Welcome to my Beta world. Hoping the FMF 4.1 I just got cleans it up a little.

Just a question as I haven't bought a new bike in over 20 years ... not having an aftermarket ECU is a really big deal ? The one the bike comes with is not adequate?

I hate to be that guy, but I feel like the Triumph pro race team has had a few mechanical failures this outdoor season? I know Savatgy had one or two mechanical DNFs earlier in the season, Swoll just had one at Southwick, and I swear this past weekend at Spring Creek they mentioned Savatgy again didn't finish moto 1 with bike issues? Anyone else noticing? It IS an entirely new platform, so I'd assume growing pains. But dam, 3-5 mechanical DNFs sounds concerning, especially for two riders who can consistently earn points each moto.

Star Yamaha has had multiple mechanical failures this year outdoors, are we questioning the Yamaha platform as well?

Anstie at southwick and Deegans immediately after moto 2 are 2 that come to mind immediately.

I didn’t even realize they had multiple issues over the weekend. Factory bikes are never ever going to be a complete representation of the production bikes and anyone that seems to think so is buying into the marketing hype one way or another
