Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
Sounds like you're calling the kettle black mr. I hate wsx and cooksey. Last time you were proved wrong and went all crazy on me you admitted your bias towards cooksey and you hate the guy.
As I recall…In early 2008 Daytona Motorsports Group(DMG) bought the promotional and sanctioning rights to all AMA Pro Racing with the exception of SX…which I think belonged to Live Nation at the time. I remember hearing all of this…coincidentally…while we were in Daytona for the SX. I remember it all too well! That was the year I was sponsoring Jiri Dostal…it rained…it was a helluva race.
So, it seems to me that that all of this doesn’t jive with Bud’s version of the story. The series was purchased and a new company was hired to manage it.
Someone can go Google all of this and get more specifics since I’m just posting this from memory.
DC talks about it in this week's Racerhead.

A few things to point out and ask.
1. Why do the nationals HAVE to start in California?
2. Why is a night race completely off the table?
Swan MX in Tyler, TX is a world class facility with amazing dirt, really good terrain undulation, right off of a main interstate. And has lights already set up, would need minimal additional lighting for TV.
Lastly, if the first round was held in the southeast in mid to late May, the average temperature is 87° but since for whatever reason the series has to start in CA it puts that off the table.

its quite easy to tell from a post whos genuine and whos a bit of a douchebag. For exapmle , youre a bit of a douchebag
Because California is where most of the industry is based out of, close to a lot of the teams HQs where they park the semis. Makes everything easier to start and end the year that way for those guys.
They did a night national in Colorado in ‘08 and maybe ‘09? I’d guess it cost too much for lighting and even then the lighting is still sketchy on a national track.
Exactly what I am talking about. This fairy tale we are told that Texas and the southeast is entirely closed for any outdoor events from May until September every year is ridiculous.
The Teams just finished SX two weeks before and need time to reset before jumping right back on the road. It makes sense with most Teams still being based there and those that aren't have shops there or access to space. The SE nationals have not ben successful for whatever reasons and they have tried with Texas, WW, and Muddy Creek. Much of it has to do with fan turnout also......the same reason there is not a history or SX success in FL other than Daytona. Not sure all the details, but I live in Utah and the one here didn't work either.
There seems to be this weird attitude of "we went there for 2 years and didn't make 10x profit, time to dump em."
Outside of core moto fans there was absolutely zero promoting for Freestone. Not to mention Blountville, TN is in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
I don't even know if Swan MX would even be interested in hosting. But, the infrastructure is there. Tyler is a medium sized city. It's only 2 hours from Dallas the whole drive is on a major interstate (I-20). 1.5 hours from Shreveport. 3 hours from Houston. There are plenty of hotel rooms and amenities. Good elevation for fans to see the track, a lot of trees for shade.
But ya, MX Sports would need to promote it and invest for a few years. Can't just expect to flip a profit immediately.
Utah was just a terrible track.
Sometimes the truth is in the middle, most times one person is being a dick and the other is just trying to survive and/or get on with things.
I am far more likely to believe the guy who has multiple successful relationships with track owners, over many years than one guy who has multiple stories about how hard he is to deal with.
RE DC "Controlling the narrative"... just because people work for him and do other pod and media jobs, doesn't mean HE controls the narrative...sure people won't want to upset the guy that employs them but that's on them, it doesn't mean DC is pulling the strings and telling them what they can and can't say.
Does your boss control your narrative?
I don't know about you but my bosses have never controlled mine. Like most people, I will say what I feel. Sure it may be in a manner that isn't direct and confrontational, as I still want to keep my job but I'll still say it.
Mathis and others have many times said what they do and don't like at Nationals, SX etc.
Regarding the Deegan bike business, I've just been re-watching a lot of that lately.
THAT was a total disgrace across the board, BUT I think that was a case of most of them being too deep in the scene to be able to understand the outlier of a situation that it was. I also think that most of them just couldn't see the people they knew behaving the way they did, when in actual fact they had. Just disgraceful. (I would love an update on how the kids doing and what happened in terms of blowback etc since).
However, that one example has nothing to do with DC.
I say get Mitch Payton and Roger DeCoster to negotiate with Bud Feldkamp, with the goal of hosting a national there again. That should work.
welp, GH is getting pissed.
so they typed up a complete timeline and released a breakdown of the "proposal" from DC and co.

This is what cookseys video was about. Just saying they released this on their website.
...and I know vital is supposed to hate cooksey, but he's not wrong in his last vid: once the mfgs see how much DC is raking in, they might start asking questions about why it costs them so much to go racing. Because without them, DC got nada. They control everything, and apparently these financial #s were under wraps till GH posted 'em.
btw - wasn't there another thread about DC explaining to Gypsy Tales his side of the story?
I'm not sure if he's wrong or right. But in the last video the only thing I really picked out was he was saying gh released this on their site. One thing I do know is the ones that complain cooksey is biased are also biased themselves. I believe there was.
Why now, all these years later is this coming up again? I figured both partie had moved on.
so did ML delete the thread about DC's side of this story?
Pit Row
You mean the one that's in the Dumbgeon?
Did you read that dude's ramblings?
wish this one got bumped to dumgeon its accomplished nothing..and cocksey at this point is taking the crown as the most annoying person associated with mx and thats pretty hard to accomplish
You mean like the last time? And that failed?
DC said it was prematurely posted and was supposed to be in its own post next week, not Racerhead. Should be up next week.
And someone tried to say DC doesn't control moto media lol.
I like ML, but I was thinking the same thing lol.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Glen Helen is obviously a legendary track for a National. But it's pretty clear the owner doesn't really want a National. If they or he did it would be on the calendar. You can't expect the AMA/ and the people involved with the Nationals to make the type of concessions and give everything the Glenn Helen people are demanding for them to host a National. Every other promoter would step up and demand the same and it would be a shit show. You can say what you want about the Coombs, I think they do what they can when it comes to having a good schedule.
you said it - I didn't.
Wish TFS was here for this.
There are always two sides to the story. I’m interested to hear Bud’s side, before passing judgement. I’ve heard all the rumors, but I guess we have to consider how much money is being made by MX Sports at the end of the day and how much money track owners are making for holding an event, after all of the costs. Add on the improvements to the facility that MX Sports is asking for too.
* Gate fees/ spectators
* Pit parking costs for racers/ teams
* Parking fees for spectators
* Concessions/ souvenir sales
These are some of the major things that bring revenue at the races, that from what I’ve heard are all controlled by MX Sports for the nationals.
in case you missed it, Bud lays out the financials on his website:
