My middle son is working on his masters, in Economics.
And my Daughter has a masters in School admin., and Edu. and is a elementary vice principal, and she has 3 kids herself,, 5 , 3 and 11 mon old,,
Sadly none of my kids loved to race,,(they did enjoy riding ) and i never forced them,,,
but i have my 5 and 3 yr old GS on a pw 50s,, and tthe 5 yr old is a tad scared,, but the 3 yr old is a little terror,, has NO FEAR,, im hoping one or either of them, loves riding and racing like i do, only time will tell,,,

It's good to hear that an old moto nut was a good enough parent to not steer their kids into racing when they weren't into it.

One is a lawn guy, one hangs drywall, one is a handyman.

They all hate their jobs. Yes sir, doing mx "for the love of the sport" is quite a springboard to success.

Your son is blessed to have a father who both supported his dreams and was trustworthy in his honesty. It's no wonder he's succeeding.

I think there's room for an educated kid to take a run at it and still make a successful run at college. What trips up a lot of kids driven to it from a young age is getting into a program that devalues education in their younger years. That's squarely on the parents.

That is after getting the following finishes:

(450 class)
A1 - night show
PHX - 18th in main
A2 - night show
SF - night show
San Diego - night show

(250 class)
Houston - 9th
Atlanta - night show
Indy - 7th
Daytona -11th
New Orleans - 7th
St Louis - 8th
Toronto - 9th
Jacksonville - 11th
Las Vegas - 12th

That is total money including AMA, Honda, etc.

Next year will be no different than any of the last 30 years. Most Pro MXers make a living with a full time job and race part time. Most do not make a profit from racing.

Somebody made a comment about them becomming product reps.

Jobs like that, posted to the general public, often demand a BBA/MMA or related business degree. We're basically talking about a "sales" job here.

Some guys are lucky enough to have a personal marketability and be (at least) literate enough to get the job done.

Even "industry jobs" are real jobs with real expectations.

Reading and writing well is the very foundation.

Hey Paul. I guess something stuck after the yellow footprints eh? Yep, I just took a rookie pro to the Dallas SX. I only asked that he not throw up. He kept it together okay. Pam is on break after her last Monster Truck show. Some New Yorkers coming my way next month. It's the Zoo Crew from Clinton Corners. dbm
