Cole Davies star?

He just kind of took a big shit on the team that took a chance on him.

TLD is a meat grinder? How many chances have they given all their riders?

Who took a shot on him, TLD or GASGAS? If it’s TLD, who knows where they end up next year, if it’s GASGAS, maybe he’d rather be on a star Yamaha. Davies has already been on Yamahas too, maybe he likes the bike better anyways. Like someone said, TLD or GASGAS didn’t lock him down good enough for ol Bobby to come swoopin in 🤣🤣🤣

Interesting. I was told he was signed to TLD through 26.

I was really hoping he would go the PC route with BT’s input. A shame for Daniel Blair, he was very excited to find Cole. But Cole has been on Yamaha radar (+ bikes) for a while now, perhaps they saw enough to make it happen. Either way, can’t wait to see his future. He had this opportunity to make something happen, and he sure as hell did.

KTM makes the best 85 and supermini. That’s why they all ride for KTM. Once they are on big bikes, there’s better offers and bikes to entertain.

Exactly.  There is zero loyalty in this sport in either direction....teams or riders.  It's no different than a job, marriage, or anything else in society these days.

I will post a tweet I've tweeted about Marc Marquez but it tells you everything you need to know about the "downfall" about KTM/GasGas (and luckily in the USA, Rockstar didn't ditch Husqvarna).

Dietrich Mateschitz was such a charismatic man and good leader that he could lead the company with only 49% of shares, because the family Yoovidhya had very much respect for him and trust. Now it has become a real corporate company where both shareholders need to be convinced, marketeers need to show how much of income the marketing investment would bring in. This already resulted in motorsport that Marc Marquez is going to become a Monster Energy rider on Ducati and not Red Bull/KTM rider. Also friendships between Dietrich and Heinz Kinigadner are sadly nothing worth for the new generation. For example in this case: Red Bull could've helped a little bit to sign Cole Davies, but that doesn't happen anymore, it doesn't even happen anymore to keep riders such as Jorge Prado who they signed when he was just something like 6 years old.

Beside this all, I'm also very disappointed in Pro Circuit and Mitch Payton, if you don't hunt down riders such as Cole Davies, knowing that Ben Townley is in his corner and you could have some leverage...

While I do agree, Redbull and KTM are ALL IN on Acosta. The way he rides the bike gives them all the confidence in that decision. I feel like that was a hard decision, but I get them taking the Acosta route. MM at the tail end of an incredible career, the monster thing could just be a small blip at the end, people will always remember the repsol Honda RB years and championships. After racing, those former relationships can easily continue.

Drew Adams is wanting to know if he is chopped liver...

I'm a fan that used to Pro Circuit have line-ups such as:
2007: Ryan Villopoto - Ben Townley - Chris Gosselaar - Brett Metcalfe
2010: Jake Weimer - Josh Hansen - Christophe Pourcel - Dean Wilson - Tyla Rattray
2014: Adam Cianciarulo - Martin Davalos - Darryn Durham - Justin Hill - Blake Baggett - Dean Wilson
2016: Adam Cianciarulo - Chris Alldredge - Tyler Bowers - Arnaud Tonus, - Joey Savatgy

Any chopped liver between those line-ups? Maybe putting al your eggs in one basket isn't the greatest idea in a injury prone sport. But nice to see that Drew has already big fans.

Jumping to 2020 and I see that the quality is dropped in Mitch his line-ups
Austin Forkner - Garrett Marchbanks - Cameron McAdoo - Jordon Smith.
Austin Forkner - Seth Hammaker - Jordon Smith - Cameron McAdoo

So again, signing multiple amazing talents is mostly beneficial for the team but also for the riders who train together. Re-signing a rider who you kicked to the curb doesn't seem like a successful move either, with getting Garrett Marchbanks back for 2025...

Who has KTM poached from Star?

I don’t follow amateur team updates too close but it does seem like a lot of times anything notable happens it involves a rider leaving one team for another. Maybe I’m out to lunch tho.

didn’t Beaumer get picked up by ktm from Yamaha and bennick get picked up by Yamaha from ktm?

Star has been stealing KTM and for a while, first one I really remember was Challen Tennant in like 2015.  I can’t think of anyone that KTM has poached from Star.

Beaumer was on EBR Yamaha, had a tryout with Star,m didn’t get picked up and showed up to future on his bike as a privateer then got picked up by KTM.

Challens grand father wrote a fat check for his kid to go to star. There hasn’t been anyone go from star to ktm because why go backwards. So far bennick deegan Davies thrasher all left the ktm group to go to star.

not to mention, Prado (long time Redbull rider) moving to Monster Energy Kawasaki next year.

According to beaumer he had a star offer after the first futures round but picked ktm over it as it had a path to pro contract. He also said he liked the bike better but I take that with a grain of salt. Interview on swap.
