2025 KTM 85's

The 2025 models of KTM et al have been announced but the 85 model is conspicuously missing. Anyone have info on these or at the least a time frame for when details will be announced? I've heard that there are a number of updates.

Pretty sure KTM is going to go all electric for 2027 so they might be trying to start with the smaller bikes. Husky and gasgas still making the 2 strokes tho!

Id expect something in fall in line with Lorrettas for the announcement.

Keep an eye open with the AMA to see a E65/85 class for 25

Hey. Let’s give credit where it due. The ktm group still trying with these efi 2 strokes.  Let’s hope that they figured it out after the 125 problems for the last few years.     I want to see how these build out into supermini tho.

There was one ktm 85 at the 2024 Loretta Lynn’s regional at ncmp that looked really different and when I got closer the model plate was removed and anything with a date was removed but sadly didn’t get any photos

Not a chance they are doing that at a mini-dad regional. So please don't

They’re ruining the their two strokes.

in january 2024 i was doing the annual trip to Sardegna, and they were testing the bike in riola sardo, they looks exactly to the big ktm but with a 85 engine, i don't know why but the bikes had a kickstarter and an e- starter, so these are how the bikes should look in the next years

Late August early September is what I've been told. No idea what changes are coming. I did hear that the frame may be smaller but that's just a rumor. Would not be surprised that we see it a LL.

Team Green minis are about to make a full on comeback if KTM adopts the TBI to the little bikes.

Seems like they would be crazy to do that after the reviews the 125 got, right?

They must have been blind deaf and dumb to release the 125 the way it was! Slow and heavy not tunable or reliable lol they had to know! So doing the same to the 85 would make sense 🤷‍♂️

Regardless of how well they run or not, adding 10 lbs to a 125 is not the right move. Can’t imagine the 85 would lose weight if they made it TBI.

Pretty sure it was 20lbs or more. I think they went from right around 200 to 230lbs because of the frame, estart, and tbi. I have a 22 150sx and the weight difference between it and the 24 125sx is absurd.

I don’t believe TBI and estart rumors. No spy photos I’ve come across show anything indicating that. Was also rumored that the 65 was getting estart too which was not true

New cylinder head, spark plug, ignition, and exhaust, with the settings inside the Keihin carburettor adjusted to suit.

Not much updating to the engine... The 2024 models were fantastic. Hard to change a great bike that is already killing the competitors.

My thoughts too. They already own the market, why spend a ton more on R&D just for the sake of changing shit?
