For those of you bashing the tailors as sue happy people because they're suing a motocross track ask yourself this who in the right minds builds a berm with a steep 2 story backside and then has races on it. That's just irresponsible. Please excuse the punctuation I'm using voice to detect

Maybe use your eyes to detect the last 17 pages before you regurgitate a lame argument that's been used probably a hundred times. And then debunked.

Unless things have changed since I left the golden state, none of the motocross series in Southern California are AMA sanctioned.

Were you ever in the golden state? I raced tons of ama sanctioned events all over SoCal from age 5 till last year.

My man, if you don't like the track, go home.

Don't choose to race it, practice and race most of the day, then sue when you run out of talent later on.

It's that simple.

The track looks absolutely fine and is as wide as a freeway. If you're that out of shape, that's on you.

I'm damn near useless on a bike these days and I'd be more than happy to ride that track.

If media reports 10 negative facts and some of them turn out to be BS that is a fail in my book. All time high? Maybe try for 10 out of 10 before you wreck people’s lives.

They didn’t build a “Death Berm”?

How could you sue someone knowing their own child passed away in a moto accident. Cant get my head around that

The crash wasn't what he ended up dying from. That was my Uncle Jeff. He was my dads best friend. Jeff would sneak my dad back into LACR after Jack would kick him out. I was 5 and watched the crash happen that day. The hospital screwed up and ultimately got an infection that ended up being the issue. Yes, the crash put him in the hospital, but the crash didn't kill him.

I don’t think even Windham would hit that as a transfer. That is a hit.

I probably would have made it an off camber if I’m the guy in the dozer. But I guess I’ll go back to typing my TPS reports at my desk

The suit is done and over with it seems at this point. The important thing now is to let track owners/builders know not to build a berm like that.

or any berms, or jumps, or whoops, because someone might get hurt and could sue you, even though they wouldnt sue for any other obstacle, trust them!

If you look at my post on page 10 I'm not happy about how liability in the US is set up, but its the world we live in. We've seen from this and other suits as well as track owners say that off track dangers are where alot of the legal issues come from, it's good to keep that in mind when building you track.

I don't think we agree on a lot on here. But I agree with you on this.

Cooksey doesn't seem to care that he DID have some things wrong. He could have been wrong on the big things just as easily.  Yes there were things that ended up being true that he said. But if You are going to go that hard after somebody You should at least care if You get some of it wrong. IF You are just trying to get the story out there and do not have some personal agenda, or just want the attention.    I think that some of the things he got wrong may have helped fire people up. If You are going to make money reporting on things, I would think that You would want people to trust Your word.

I would rather not see people sue anybody. But at this point burning goggles You already paid for is not going to hurt Rich. Nike made a ton of money when people were burning their shoes for whatever reason back years ago.

Why not try and do something positive instead of just trying to hurt Rich.  How about trying to get more people to walk tracks before racing so they know what might be behind a berm or whatever. It could result in areas being changed and injuries being avoided and not put anybody in the position of having to make the choice of to sue or not.

Or How about getting a ton of people to go ride LACR and give them a tip when they pay? Instead of buying a pair of goggles to burn give LACR that money.

How about rewarding the good people instead of just hurting the bad guys.

Show people that they are better off turning to the industry for help, rather than resorting to legal action.

A young girl lost her life at a local track a couple years ago.  The parents of that girl and the track put together a race to benefit the parents and the parents started a program that sponsors a rider/riders each year now.  They are making some good come from a horrible situation.

He got it right that Taylor sued LACR, but that's about it. The rest was his typical ax grinding over an industry that spit him out.

That may be the case but, at least he isn't identifying as an English literature professor and attempting to force you to address him as such...

That “redneck” shtick is marketing. Bob was to the manor born, (his childhood home ^)his father owned a Ford dealership, he grew up upper middle class, hardly redneck material. But hey, you can fool some of the people some of the time…

Fair enough.

Can you give us what the proper definition of a redneck is please?

I'm sure someone from LA is probably an expert on the subject right?

He might have been born in that house, but he was raised in the streets

As far as I know, nobody has shown any proof that Rich tried to or did ride as his kid. In his statement that I screenshotted he denies it in his summary. The full statement is on the first page. Again, Nobody has shown that he tried to ride as his kid in any of the many posts made about this.  So I would put that part of the Cooksey video in the column of info he got WRONG.

Maybe You meant to be funny and I am missing the joke. But there are so many people not paying attention that I am assuming You are serious.
