Obviously it's just his personality, but he is plenty fast and talented enough to let his riding do the talking. Talking trash on people is fine while you're winning, but it comes back to bite you when you're not.
He's making a rod for his own back. But it is what it is, some of it is just post-race adrenaline and his age I'm sure. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of humility. He's drawing his line in the sand in terms of who will be behind him and who won't; not sure the people that are super into this style of talking post-race are the sort you want in your corner really, but there you go.

First moto he checked up when he went off the track, but second moto didn’t seem any different than Vialle’s, so if the AMA actually followed their own rules it would have been 1 - 2 to Levi’s 2 - 1, so no overall.
I was a fan of the kid at first, but the more trash he tries to talk, the more he reminds me of Colby Covington from the UFC…they both come off as trying to hard to be the heel.

In my opinion, Cooper Webb is a masterclass in treading that line between cocky and classy.
Deegan could learn how to do it a lot better, but I think he'll mellow and mature with age.

Deegan is an incredible talent, but he is impossible (for me) to root for. He is simply unlikeable.
I still don’t know what shit talkers Deegan is talking about but whatever he needs to fabricate to give him motivation and ride like that, I’m all for it.
