It is being billed as the "Race of the Century" and anticipation is already growing as the first US GP of the millenium, scheduled for Glen Helen on the Memorial Day weekend of May 29/30, draws closer by the hour. The American factory teams have yet to announce just who will be racing, but rider agent Bob Moore said at the weekend he already knows of confirmed commitments from Josh Hill and Davy Millsaps, and more will follow for sure.
The place to get all the information you require, and also get some idea of the facility in nearly nine minutes of footage from the 1990 GP, when Eric Geboers ended his riding career by defeating Rick Johnson, Johnny O’Mara and Jeff Matiasevich, is http://www.glenhelen.com/

Hill has the raw speed - not so sure about the stamina.

Millsaps sounds like a disaster in-the-making.

Still like the fact that people are beginning to break the ice. The more, the merrier.

Brilliant can't wait to get there for these two races- it's going to be some week for a motocross fan in Cali.

I was wondering if Hill would do it, it could put him in the shop window for next season, and if Hill does it bubba should be too if his wrist is healed?

Millsaps is awesome kind of an American Ken De Dycker it will be good to see him race outdoors in person 2 weeks in a row...

Would love to see Canard, Barcia Weimar and Pourcel against Paulin, Herlings, Musquin and Roczen - how cool would that be? For me the US GP is bigger than the nations because more top riders are competing not just the best 3 from each country

It's the race of that weekend.

I just sent Josh a text asking him about it, and his reply was, "Not that I know of, unless they're putting a roof and lights over it."

Does that mean Hill won't be racing any of the outdoors either?

pretty logical actually, why didn't you question the logic of the guy who said Short might race? based on his team-mate racing. IF Hill races I presume L&M would support him which would mean Bubba would have his team there and his sponser wanting him to race... pretty logical if you ask me...

If Hill isn't racing because the team isn't attending it would also be logical to presume James won't be there either. IMO L&M should do it, it would increase the esposure for their sponsors and it is their local race. Plus Stewart v Cairoli would be awesome!

What TV station will it be live on in the USA ?

What makes you thinks James Sponsors are asking for more exposure ?

Last I heard San Manuel is paid and plans to race Supercross only, why is that so hard to figure out ?

Like I said before if more then 2 or 3 top 10 USA riders show up, I will be surprised, it simply is not a good deal for them to race this.

I guess I should have asked if he had any plans to race any of the outdoors? Maybe the same ones JS is saying he is wanting to race???

Too much to lose as Searle insinuated?

It is the world championship for one, there would be huge interest in James racing it, Big Crowd, Live all over the world on the internet, Live on TV in various countries throughout the world , Magazine exposure all over the world. Plenty of Sponsor exposure and Red Bull are of James' sponsors would want him to race too...

Not much to lose if you ask me, last year they talked about doing GPs, this year James is supposed riding some outdoor nationals anyway and maybe the MXDN, in 2007 Reed rode Red Bud for that team and the MXDN when they where supercross only... it's not impossibe for it to happen.

If Stewart races he'll lay the smack down, period. And you guys will be waving your American flags and loving every minute of it.
