Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
Need a new format too. They’ve obviously made the tracks much safer so the riders have higher odds of making it through series. I get it but man the tracks are just wildly easy. Dudes shouldn’t be able to case through an entire rhythm and only lose a second or so. (Forget who did that last night). Much as we all hate to see crashes, that definitely should have been a crash there.
I took my gal to her first SX this weekend. She works in the auto industry and has attended several auto races, drag races, and even participates in auto racing herself as a driver. So to me she would be the person Feld should be marketing to you know...attract new fans, female fans, a whole new fan base.
Her take away was pretty telling..." I can't believe how many people show up to watch so little race action. It's just watching guys hit jumps. Where is the racing?"
So there you have it from someone who could actually have been a fan.
You have black mold in your brain if you thought that was a good track design.
#lamecross.
Until they bring in more dirt and get away from this idiotic idea of 9 whoops, flat turns, hardly any bowl turns, and cookie cutter repeater tracks we are in Lamecross.

Why I have always liked the old school way of having practice (not timed) then top 10 in points automatically made it to the 60 man night show and the rest raced to make it to the night show.
The night show each class had 3 Heats, 2 Semis then LCQ to get to the 20 man main event. 14 races.
timed practice has to many variables. There is always a time when the track is better for a group. A few times the C group had an amazing time before the track became beat up.
Remember when they used to place tough blocks in the turns to make the track develope naturally? Dart(k) Phisch or whatever program they use to time the sections is absolutely horrendous for our sport. They can find a good blend of technology guy on the bikes, but still old school sport to make it difficult
Want to creature new lines on a 1 line track?
Stop working the shit out of the track. Let the track break down with bumps and ruts so the riders start searching and creating new fast lines.
They practice on real/regular tracks, show up and see a lamecross track build for amateurs. The only reason it becomes difficult is because they do 25 laps on the damn thing and tear it apart.
Let see them blitz them damn long straightaway whoops..and not the shit little doubles whoops.
Alex from dirtworx designs them and feld stamps the approval. Last year we had great tracks and very unique layouts so the excuses about fitting in a “box” and dirt don’t fly with me. Maybe Alex has been doing it so long he has lost his ability to great unique tracks.
Isn't the track the same for everyone? What the fuck does it matter if we like the track or not? In the end, the best guy still wins. Get over it. It's called MX or SX for a reason. That basically means moto racing off the road. If you don't like it, start following the MotoGP
When's the last time you went to a flat track?
Sry, but have never participated, for the simple reason that we don't hold flat track races and that also means there are no tracks. Basically the same situation as with supercross.
I think this is recency bias. If you were to go back there would be a bunch of threads complaining about the track layouts.
the tracks this year are shit though. I think it’s been 3 or 4 weeks in a row the whoops have ended in a flat corner.
Good comeback.
I didn’t say it was or it wasn’t. I just can’t believe so many grown adults are whining like a toddler over this.
BRING BACK JOE CAMEL!
I can almost guarantee you have bitched about a track you have ridden before. Ever been told “prep” practice only to drive 3 hours and find it baked and blue groove? I for one like new tires on my bikes so it never sat well with me.
This is the pentacle of our sport, the elite. The tracks they are on are dog shit and boring. If you don’t like members voicing their opinion to try and make changes for the better of the sport than STFU and move on. Until then you’re just another person bitching to bitch like everyone else you are complaining about. Some of us, myself included actually care about our sport. So I will try and do what little I can to help anyway I can. That includes pointing out the issues, and trying to find solutions to make things better. That goes from amateur to pro.
Pit Row
I went to the race yesterday and of the many, many races I have gone to over the last few decades….it was the least exciting. Hardly any good racing battles and yes…I thought the track sucked. Also….to all riders without the last name Lawrence….however much you are practicing starts….increase it by 1000%. This sport is starting to be less and less exciting. Bring back long whoop lanes and make jumping them cost time…PERIOD. Make rhythm sections with multiple options that reward risk. Will there be more injuries. Maybe…but damn….this is not the sport it used to be. I couldn’t believe I was sitting in the stands, with gorgeous weather, wondering if I should have just gone riding.
Well, you're not doing enough.
I can not fathom why you’d be against people advocating for better racing circumstances. Seems like you’re not a true fan of the sport if you have an issue with it.
Personally love the flat 180 after the whoops.
Any mistake cost big time.
More passes there then the 2 bowl turns prior combined.
I was busy last night so I didn't get to watch the races, although I did see that Jett ended up winning. Not sure I even wanna watch the races after reading this thread.
Not to discredit rider skill too much, but Honda obviously had the starts dialed with the atmosphere last night. Not awesome to watch and think to yourself that the engineer nailed the start.
Supercross was cool back when even the 250s (now 450s) couldn’t jump something if they made a mistake at the start of the section. This made racing better because hardly anyone could put in 20 flawless laps every week. This closed down the huge gaps (MC was obviously an exception).
Now a 450 rider can stop to wave at the fans after the corner before a triple, then take off and jump it.
In addition to the tracks sucking (especially Daytona…fire RC and bring the professor back..), 450s turn it into boring racing for the most part.
My solution would be to make 450s outdoors-only. Regional class gets stock 250s, with true bone-stock motors (pipes too). Suspension could be revalved/sprung and that’s it.
Premiere class gets full works 250s.
Lumpy, I don’t. know if you’re aware of the new for 2024 “Only 9 Whoops” rule we’re suffering this season? And the fact that it’s very obviously made the racing “easier” and, as intended, appears to be some sort of safety oriented decision.
While that seems like a good thing, there’s no denying the fact that a REAL whoops-section separates the REALLY good riders from the good riders. Have ya noticed all the “jumping thru” the whoops this year, too? It’s gone way beyond the usual suspects.
As for how they would have executed more whoops on this track? For starters…they could have put them somewhere-else…or used different design (I guarantee they have alternate designs).
“Bring Back Real Whoops Sections!”
Serious option here. Why can't another Organization buy Feld's Supercross rights? That way we can get back to making real tracks with LIME and no jump/whoop/dragon back restrictions. Its completely obvious that Feld is scared to use lime because of legal reasons. If someone buys them out...new owners and no legal problems..
All down to starts and a maximum 9 whoops rule? Mike Alessi must daily ask the universe why he was born 15 years too early.
The Salt Lake track has potential to be the biggest snoozer of the year...
