Not surprising.

The kid has moments of good riding, no doubt.

An outdoor win, and a heat race win.

But for the most part...

Well we saw it last night, and the results for most of his races.

The media's always trying to hype the next great rider.

He ain't one of them.

Saw an interview with Hammaker on Whiskey Throttle. He said after the race, Swoll came over to the truck and apologized, so he probably did watch it back.

Swoll went over to the truck to kick his ass but Hammaker's mom stepped up and he elected to apologize instead

Kid was ripping last night. If anything, his riding and will to give it his all worked in his favor. Can't compare any rider on the gate to Ferry. They all have more than 15 mins on a supercross track.

I think the jump line that Swoll took into the sand was inspired, and reminded me of the time Stewart landed on Carmichael's back in motocross.  Both were ill advised.  Both failed.  Both made you wonder what they were thinking.  At least Swoll landed in front, just not by enough.

If he would have landed a full bike length in front of Seth, that move would be celebrated on Vital forever.

The jump line into the sand was really fast, Anderson was using it too and made up a bunch of time there.  I think Swoll thought it was good enough to jump in front of Hammaker and it just didn’t work out like that.  Just over ambitious in my opinion.  I’d bet Triumph liked the aggression…

If I’m his team manager, I’m stoked on the effort. Now if he’s does that in title contention, we’re having a talk.

For real, I think if he'd had waited one more lap to get even closer to Seth, that would've been one of the coolest passes we've ever seen in SX. The problem is that the pass just wasn't there at that moment he went for it and it ended up being a kamikaze situation. Grinning

Bad move, dumb move, but I like both Hammaker and Swoll and I was happy to see both winning heats and having inspired main events, up until that incident.

Did it appear to be a dumb move at the time, Yes,  but i reality, i think he was in a position that he thought Hammaker was holding him up, and his board would have told him Vialle and Deegan were coming.

So do you sit and follow, and end up 5th, or do you make the move, and take your first podium.

I think he will have shown the team he isnt afraid to take risks, and while he has fallen a few times, he is having a decent year, they should be happy he wants it.

It’s funny how 100% of the time people confirm themselves as smart, they are saying something moronic.

Can you point out when a really dumb thread, like this one, panned out like you said it would?

https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/AC9-Arm-issues,1408813

From the top rope ^ Please don’t take internet communities so seriously guys, this is about creating fun discussions. My last thread was years ago basically saying I think there’s steam to Cooksey’s AC9 retirement talk (even though I don’t like Cooksey) and nobody could get to the point of discussion cause they were so triggered. Can someone tell me what AC is doing at the end of this season?

Shoutout to those actually discussing this TOPIC as it plays out.. he’s battling people in his social comments now. Is that the brand ambassador Triumph wants at this stage?

If Jalek is crushing it for Triumph this summer, awesome. He deserves it. If it unravels, I’ll see you all next time I login in a year or so!

well said. wow you got downvoted 0-58 on that AC thread and yet here we are in 2024 LMAO and AC is hanging up the boots. what's that saying that got popular recently? the difference b/w a conspiracy theorist and a normie is about 6 months?

Swolleek isn't a good ambassador or fit for that team IMO. he's a hot head and has ego issues (remember that deal with Matthes he took personally). I don't blame him for his ego issues given what he's come through, but he needs a mentor that isn't RC. maybe Club or PC would do him well. Triumph needs Anstie and i dunno RJ or Hammaker.

Cool. Two years ago you said AC should retire because of the arm injury everyone knew he was dealing with.

You were off by a couple of years. Here, I’ll give you a similar hot take: “Eli is gonna retire soon”

I don't fault him for going after it and trying to make an effort at the end of a race, especially with a line as sweet as that one. But he totally misjudged it and that wasn't just a "racing incident" - it was 100% his fault. It doesn't mean he meant to put Seth in the dirt, but his poor judgement directly resulted in it.

Swapmoto posted a post-race interview with Swoll on YouTube and he was still trying to defend himself and act like he wasn't in the wrong, which is, frankly, delusional.

Jett is going to retire too at some point.

AC didn't retire after '22 as Cooksey was insinuating. He didn't retire after '23, either. He is retiring two years later after a 12 year pro career that was marked by chronic injuries.

Someday Swoll and Triumph will part ways, and however many years down the road that may be I'm sure you will reference this thread in some strange flex.

The adage even a broken clock is correct twice a day comes to mind.

I would disagree. Jalek had the right idea, it was just bad timing. James just sent it into the back of Ricky for reasons only he knows.

lbh AC should have retired awhile back. There has been no arc of redemption, he's just been going through the motions probably out of a sense of commitment. And he's retiring for the exact reason predicted; that's the difference. Saying Tomac is going to retire soon due to age also wouldn't garner 58 downvotes just like claiming the sky is blue wouldn't. people just didn't want to hear  that goodguy AC was on his way out before he realized his potential. Well, he was and is looks like.

there was this one Brazilian fella that once said, "- if you no longer go for the gap, you are no longer a Racing Driver." He was a fairly astute gent, so I'd take his 5 cents wholeheartedly.

Was it a bit of an 11th Hour send? yea, for sure. absolutely.

Worth the gamble? absolutely. Look at Pecco's LUNGE into Turn 1 in Jerez this weekend? Could have gone shit & taken two World Champion contenders out, but instead is being revered as a potential pass of the year? Game of Inches, sometimes you don't get it clean.

some people are making it sound like he aimed for a Radiator?
