What's it cost to get into the gate at a amateur national now days, vehicle pass included, or an outdoor national?

The high entry is the reason I cant go, I have 5 kids and a wife. That's a mortgage payment for me. There's no way. It's like paying spectator entry fee at any track on race day. The spectator chooses to stay home most the time. If they let them in, they would make more back on vending alone that day, and also get repeat and even participants out of it. But it's there business, not us poor peoples.

I can see a family situation really makes it extremely expensive. If you go with a buddy you catch hell from the whole family. If you take one or two kids, it is still expensive, and the other part of the family will never let you hear the end of it. Too expensive for everybody in the family to go. Looks like Freecaster on the couch with a cold beverage.
can't you technically sneak in at GH?

If you could get the top 10 in each division from the AMA to race also, $100 would be a bargain.

$100 is a fair price if you love moto. Compared to a pro football game or pro basketball game I think $100 for an entire day is a real value.

I would balk at a $100 one-day GH GP ticket. $40-60 I would pay no problem.

At Anaheim I've parked down the street for free for the last 3-4 years. Plus, when it's over you get out and on your way with very little wait time. Makes me feel better about any food/drink I buy while there. I'd feel different if I thought the riders were better taken care of.

If I lived in So Cal again I would find the people who do the hiring for the support people get me flag and some sun-block and watch the races.

if 40 of AJ's Service 500's we're to line up, it would be worth $1000!!!!

Damn, 70 bucks a ticket??? 280 for 4 tickest plus camping spots at 50 each??? Holy shiat!!! That's a hell alot of money in a bad economy to ask people to pay to watch a race that really means nothing in the U.S. Guess were going camping that weekend, just not at Glen Helen...

Someone is going to pay for this and it won't be Youthstream or Glen Helen.
I've stayed away from this whole topic till some more info came out.. Now that it has, I just don't see a whole lot of people attending... They needed to drop the price well below a national. Paying that much to see riders most know nothing about is just absured.

You did bring up a good point though, I don't see this being a real big success..

It's like 400 if you buy 4 tickets and two camping spots, plus food and drink.... Count me out.

Come on it's the race of the century , Century is 100 right

100 bucks to stand in an over flowing shitter just to piss after standing in line for 20 minutes.

I can't wait.
I'd rather spend that on going riding myself a few times, or pay for a whole day at a national.

What happens if they catch you sneaking in? Do they escort you to the exit or have you arrested?

The USGP is the one chance to see the AMA pro's that have heart against the best of the rest of the world. It trumps the talent pool at the mxon. Looks like most on this board are either to stupid or to broke ass to appreciate the opportunity. For the price of a tank of gas or the weekly rear tire you get to experience the true essence of outdoor motocross. Sneak in. Pathetic.

"Would you pay $100 to see the US GP ?"

Me? Yes. of course..

But it's going to be really hard for to convince any "regular" folks to come along..

They supposedly have a 5 year contract. Think five years! Keep the price reasonable, get really great crowds and build from there..

And everyone is talking about TV coverage. Remember, even the NFL has a the local blackout rule. That's because they need those stadiums full. (Plus it is kind of hard to implement local blackout rules on cable).

Attract the big crowds, be consistent, and keep creating our own new "super stars" and TV, with all the TV money will follow. Easy.

If both the top 20 American riders & GP riders raced it I would gladly pay $100 for a ticket.
Heck....even if they charged $100 for a live HD broadcast of the event on cable I would pay it.

In Europe kids, i believe under the age of 14, don't have to pay the entrance fee to watch a GP. I have no idea if they will have to pay for the US GP.
And... i never take my wife with me to those big races lol. She can come along when it's an amateur race, but at the big race i like my peace and quiet in between the races :D

So that is 100 dollars for me and my 2 kids :p

I'm conflicted on this one.
Hopefully it will be good for the sport.
I know one thing, if I was living in Europe and was looking for a vacation, this would be it.
Fly into Vegas, rent a car, get some cheap camping gear, catch GlenHelen"s GP,bum up the coast all week, catch the National at Hangtown, leave everything and fly home.
A trip one would remember the rest of ones life.

Yeah.
