Watched the interview on Aussie web site, he smoked them all in the lites, with a 3 + second fastest lap time on veryone in the lites. Rode a few SX in US before coming to Aussie and did real well.

Why did all the teams stay away from him? Was he asking to much?? I really am warmign to the guy, seems liek a cool dude. In his interview it sounded like he was unsure why he couldn't get a ride.

Do some of these young kids have a bad manager or none at all....

Keep going PJ and hope to see you back in US on a good team in 2011 and show them all..

Have fun in Aussie and stay away from the Bundy Rum...

Think he'll be back for the last 2 rounds of the West Lites. Was riding real well on a KTM (I believe?)

Why would you stay away from Bundy rum? It's a gift from God.

He ran 2 rounds as a replacement for Searle at KTM and I believe the 5th that Larsen scored at one was a better finish than Tommy had turned in at that point.

I was wondering the same thing. The kid had a decent freshman year and for some reason got blown off this year. I think (not mentioning names) allot of less deserving riders got rides over him this year.

Here's the interview snowy 816 is talking about.

I'm guessing he was just one of the many left without a ride because of all the cutbacks. Hang tough PJ!

Be careful with that statements.. I know TC winning the Aussie nationals and SX in lites maybe earned 100k with all sponsors.

Money isn't that great in Australia unless it has changed allot in the last 4 years where I have lived there anymore.

Sounds like the Aus series isn't as strong as thought certainly not as strong as the British, french, Belgian nationals nevermind the US or GPs.

Agreed about Larson, he should be racing in the US or even UK nationals - he would have more competition there and GPs

Why feel bad for him?
He had opportunities to ride in the U.S.
He just thought that JDR/ KTM was a better opportunity going forward.
Besides, he is getting paid to do what he loves, ride a dirt scooter!
Once in a lifetime chance if you ask me, how many yanks can say that they
got the full down under experience? Especially as a teenager.

Sure seems to be alot of Aussies on this "American" forum.
I think that shows the level of enthusiasm and passion for the sport that Australia has.
Maybe better to ride where one feel appreciated. I spent 11 days in Aus with PJ, we always felt welcomed, no bad vibes at all.

I hope that after this trip he comes back home and does real good.I remember watching the kid at Pro sport here in VA and he was fun to watch. I can still remember my sons face when PJ came over Walkers mountan and did a Knack Knack (or what ever you call it lol) and looked over at us. I thought my sons jaw was going to hit the ground and his eyes were as big as baseballs.

Great response Dad! If people here on this forum only knew a little more about how you guys rose to the cream of the crop? From humble beginnings to this, it's a great story. Congratulations to both of you!

Yeah maybe I wrote it wrong, but I lved watching PJ in Vurbo vids as a kid etc, and honestly thought he would be PC rider. Agree he will have a great time in Aussie but needs to get back to the US after and show people the opertunity they missed in putting him on a factory or factory supported team..
I am a fan of the kid for sure.. 3 sec a lap quicker than everyone else is FAST.

He was 5 seconds faster then the field in moto 3. PJ ran a 2:09..the second fastest was a 2:14... killed the field..

That's because most of our best guys are now racing in the US or in the 450s...

Reedy, Byrne, Metcalfe, Moss, Moss are all US based...

And the 450 or big bike class, has ALWAYS been where it is at in Australia... Always... Why do you think Reed was so keen to get on a 250 in the US...

PJ was killing it at San Diego SX this year! I was sitting right in front of the triple that Borky was sketchy hitting on his KTM and PJ was finding a way over it every lap. I hope to see him back in the states after he is through with having a blast and eating vegemite.
