How is the Vegas motocross scene in the fall and winter months? What options are available? Thank you

Pretty much just Sandy Valley and Mesquite as far as I’m aware. Both fun tracks
Sandy Valley just redesigned their whole layout and it’s a lot of fun with some big booters that are not do or die. The current owner cares and puts a lot of his heart and soul into keeping the track in good condition and prepped.
I honestly have no love for mesquite… they over prep it and it just isn’t fun to ride, for me, others love the deep slot car ruts and like it.
That’s about it for local moto!
i just moved here and as far as i know sandy valley at night during the summer friday/sat/sun and mesquite in the fall
I live in the North West area around 215/Ann. Sandy valley is about an hour drive. Mesquite 90 minutes. California tracks would probably be the next closest. Seems to be a lot of desert riding north of Las Vegas Motor Speedway but I haven’t made it out there yet as I am still trying to decide what bike to get.

2 tracks for all of the Vegas area? Man, that's sad. Kind of glad I didn't move there.
I'm up here off of the 95 and Durango and have been looking at that mountain range in the north... But i think its military
Yeah it’s kind of disappointing to have only have two within reasonable driving distance.
Didn’t Boulder City use to have a track? Any other tracks close to the AZ border or UT border besides Mesquite?
I have no idea. I've lived in Oregon my whole life.
There was a third out towards kingman that was fun but he had to shut it down due to a divorce … i am hopeful he will open again but women are the devil and they can crush our hopes and dreams pretty quick! 😂
This turned up on Western Raceway's IG recently, but not sure if it means it's opening back up to public use?
We are supposed to be getting an OHV park here in Pahrump with some type of closed courses on it, but construction has been slow going.
Yes Boulder had a track. It was a decent track but was a silty mess. The one day I went a bit before they closed there were 4 riders all day. It looked like it could have been really good if the time, money and effort were put into it. But this was 2009.
Mesquite MX is really turned into a phenomenal track since it was purchased by RMX a couple years ago. No they don’t “over prep” it, the track has been setup to be very deep and form massive ruts. It’s not really setup for the casual rider, more so for the racers to have a place to train and ride during the winter. (All riders are welcome, just know what you will be conditions you will be riding in/on.) Arguably the deepest ruts on the west coast are formed on this track.
RMX also puts on Thanksgiving MX and the World Mini’s that are very well run races and are well attended as well, in addition to a winter race series.
LACR is 2.5 hours from the LV valley and GH is not much further from there. Riding in the summer is practically a death sentence so I’m fine with the seasonal riding. An occasional trip to SoCal keeps the itch to ride in check during the summer.
Probably most locals are aware, but just in case...
go ride the field of dreams.. couple miles behind Boulder city cemetery past the power plant
Hi neighbor.
215 and Hualapai For me.
Everyone in this thread lives in the same corner of town apparently haha 95 and Durango for me as well..
Pit Row
Who knew 95 and Durango was in Henderson? lol
215 and russel for me … I live right behind bishop gorman HS!
I was just at mesquite Mx for the world mini Grand Prix. That track looks like soo much fun as I don’t ride anymore and the dirt looks reslly good for being on the west coast!
Flamingo and 215 here.
Are there any good offroad single tracks or hill climbs near Las Vegas? A friend has house here and we are planning to do some offroading within the next few days. He lives near west Tropical Parkway so we probably check this corner first. Are the Nellis Dunes any fun?
Howdy neighbor lol. I forgot about this thread until it was revived today
To answer you question.. The Nellis Dunes is a pretty damn big ohv area. I want to go riding up there.. i havent been but the times ive driven by On my way to mesquite.. ive seen alot of jeeps and dirtbikes and quads parked over there… also since i work at NAFB, they always send out a weekly email advertising the OHV area to ride/offroad
I've never been there, but I think there is a legal OHV area about an hour north in Moapa: https://ohv.nv.gov/trails/logandale-trails
