Man that kid is a savage, what is it with red heads in this sport being so legit on a bike š. Isnāt he only 15? Donāt know if I have completely missed something but has there been talks of when he will be jumping up? Iām sure Kawi would like to keep him room seems tight if he was to jump with in the next year? Which is when imagine they were aiming for? Cheers!
Turns 16 tomorrow. If I had to guess, he'll move up after Loretta's.
He's a big kid for 16. How tall is he? Check out Matty B's YouTube channel. Adams was at a LL qualifier that he was racing
Iāve been saying this for a while, heās got the juice. Mitch/PC: hold on to him at all costs.
Agreed, had my eyes on him for a while too, he is legit.

I havenāt been paying attention for very long but Iām already with you guys . Heās going to do some damage .
I remember this same exact thread about Ryder D a while back. We gotta stop this ā15/16year olds should be professionalsā thing.
Exactly.
Look no further than Levi Kitchen.
His patience and timing seem to be working out quite well.
Tomac was another who wasn't rushed into the pro scene.
I just finished listening to the Jeff Ward/Whiskey Throttle deal. Jeff was in his early teens racing 6 nights a week making $2000 a week on custom framed handmade bikes before he turned pro. What a stark contrast to the development of today's young riders. This Adams kid, and several others in the futures are legitimately skilled riders, but seasoned racers they are not. That is a big difference. They need to go through some sort of crucible to harden them for a thirty-week pro racing season. Sitting in a camper for a week at Loretta's to race 2 hours or so is showing not to work, a lot of these youngsters are turning out to be hot house flowers.
Years before Towers.
Adams races more than most. Heās not really on that 6 big race program. Heāll line it up anywhere. I hope he doesnāt rush it. But definitely needs to get on that PC bike in the future. Burkeens video from the Lorettaās qualifier is unreal. You can tell Drew is firing on all cylinders at the moment.
Saw him at the LLQ last weekend, impressive is an understatement. Young man was on another level.
Drew has been racing against, and beating, older kids most of his amateur career. He has always had the goods. Will be interesting to see if he goes pro after LL or if he waits until outdoors ā25. I think heās ready after LL.
I can't believe he's that young. I feel like I've been seeing YouTube reels, or whatever their short vids are called, for the longest time
He got on a big bike early on.
Timing seems to be everything- wait for Deegs and Kitch to move up
Kitchen with Prado next year on the big green bikes and Adams on Kitchens 250?
Mcadoo, Forkner, Hammaker, and Vohland all are in contract years I believe (not sure if anyoneās been extended yet). If Mitch ends up keeping everyone, he could just run a six man team like he did recently when Reynolds and Ryder D turned pro.
Mitch better lock up Adam's now. Adam's probably had a dozen voicemails from Star when he woke up this morning lol
Pit Row
My grandson is same age and has been racing in Drew's class for YEARS. I wouldn't say he was racing Drew but he was riding around in the same class. Lol
Its been easy to see that the Number 300 was going to be great one day. It appears his only weakness has starts. The kid is eff'ing good. Man could he ring the neck off that kawi super mini..
Yes he will and when he does show up at your normally local races it's been a treat to watch him. Been to countless races over the last 10 years or so. It was evident very early on the talent he had.. The same old red-headed jokes as always but damn he lives up to it!!
Tomac was on a big bike for like a year and a half, and went pro at 17 yrs old. A lot of the good kids are on a big bike for a year/year and a half and go pro. Millsaps, Alessi, and AC were on a big bike barely a year before racing the pro class. Deegan wasnāt on a big bike long either. How long has Adams been on a big bike?
Kitchen will be on a 250 next year. Anderson is signed through 2025.
Adams lap times would have put him 18th in the 250 main. Letās hope he takes a couple years before turning pro.
With riders proving you can be great into your 30ās I donāt see why they canāt bump the min age to go pro to 18 and let these kids develop more. Theyāll do a lot better having more competition at amateur events and also let the bodyās develop more, if AC hadnāt been able to go pro two more years he might of avoided those 2 years that he accumulated so much damage. Feel like going pro too soon and underperforming and losing a ride is 10x worse than waiting until youāre more than ready. If Kitchen went pro at 16 he would of been a flop and be doing construction right now
Red hair jokes. If a kid has red hair , that means his parents were rusty. He looks strong on the bike yet smooth. Where is his team mate Yazic injured?
kid is so amazing! Watching him at Freestone, winning by over a minute, he was just so fun to watch. Kid is big too, he is gonna be strong as hell early in his career.
Pretty sure they did change it to 18 around 10 years ago or so and then it was changed back to 16 around the time AC was going pro. Maybe had to go thru arenacrosses to go pro early if I remember correctly.
How fast do you need to go with a 10 second lead? Before that he was in traffic with some slightly sketchy riders. He will be just fine. ā25 SX is 8 months from now.
He has been clearly faster than Towers whenever theyāve raced. Towers has been reported to be one of the faster star guys at the goat farm during practice motos. Drew rides at the Lawrence compound and is right there with Hymas during practice motos. Heās doing this at 15 years old. Heās going to be good.
Why stop? Not everyone is the same? Someone could be ready at 16 and and someone could be ready at 20? Believe a lot of it comes down to if they are mentally ready and some are younger and some take more time. A lot have come in that 16,17 mark and kicked arse once they got use to the pace
