Don't get me wrong. I am a Bam bam fan. But if Pourcel was bouncing off of everyone too would people be encouraging it like they are Barcia?

The reason you started this thread is because funny enough, you already know the answer to your question "NO WAY" .Some will call it racing, many would be hating.

Nope. There is a huge double standard when it comes to who bumps who.

Yes, I do know the answer already.

I also think that Barcia might be heeding some advice that might come back around to bite him later. I am the first guy to say that I LOVE aggresive racing. I just do. I just think Bam bam better be careful. He may run it under the wrong guy one day.

I am a Barcia fan as well, but hey i am a fan of most of the guys, as a rider i can't respect them enough for what they do, this is why i am also a Pourcel fan, i've lived away from home before and what he's doing isn't easy. I also like the aggressive racing, but i do think we will see Barcia calm his style down a bit, as it is proving to be very entertaining to watch but its not always the most efficient. In another thread Dv12 was saying the same thing i definitely agree with that. I chalk it up to being young and just really wanting to win, its a good quality Barcia has, some riders don't have enough of that spunk so i won't fault him for it, he will figure it out on his own.

I agree that there's definitely a double standard. When Barcia does it then it's "just racing" or heart/desire etc. If the tables turned it would undoubtedly be described as dirty or unnecessary. I'm all for physical riding when it's needed, it makes the racing interesting. I just think it's silly when a top 5 guy bangs his way though people he should have no trouble getting by for the sake of it. If it not necessary then its just risky and dangerous. And I'm not citing Barcia as the example of that.

Barcia is racing to win. Even RV comes in hot in turns. It's a supercross track with 50 second lap times. You don't have much time to play with a slow or lapped rider. If you like single file one line racing you're not going to like Barcia or half of the other east coast lites riders.

That's well and fine but he also needs to think 'big picture' too .... i.e. his career. You want to ride aggressively enough so that the other riders respect you ... maybe some of them will even have have some intimidation.

But ... if you go over the line, then you are simply motivating them to dish out payback and take you out whenever they get the chance. That translates into lost opportunities for titles ... and possibly career ending injuries. Barcia doesn't want to go the Grant Langston / Bobby Bonds route.

We'd be saying Pourcel is riding aggressive and we like it. Next question.

What an idiotic thing to say.
So anybody who dislikes JS or CP is either a racist or a nationalist?

What about DV12 he's French.
I would say he's held in very high regard here.

I guess that explains why so many here love to hate CR.
Because he is Australian and half Aborigines.

The tipping point will be reached when Barcia is always winning. Right now, he is still the underdog and everyone likes the aggressive riding - he gets a pass.

If he believes that he deserves the lead, then our attitude changes. A few of Pourcel's recent actions seem to be more retaliation than aggressively trying to get to the front. Big difference.

Plus...I like Justin's style. He doesn't appear arrogant or "entitled". He just wants to win and does what it takes.

He probably wouldn't have lost the last two races to the kid.

He looked like Barcia at Dallas ,when he cut down on Davalos in the first corner causing a huge pileup.

You need to watch the slow motion replay again.

I did actually just watch it in slow mo here a few times. All the way down the start straight, CP is leaning on Davalos and than right when they get to the first corner he really leans over to his left and they hit. Maybe Davalos should have let off but at that speed it was going to be chaos.

Pourcel has no problem cutting into another racers lines. It's what makes him a sx champion. Davalos should have known Pourcel was going to hug that inside line.

I agree with the underdog thing as well, he doesn't come across as a bully because everyone still sees him as the underdog, a proven champion with the same riding style would probably get some boos whether french or not. Remember RC bumping Pastrana years ago?

it's generaly the truth, not racist etc, just plain patriotism, the American kid will always be favoured, even if he's dirty or riding on the edge, espescially if he's up against a foreigner, and this one happens to be espescially good with a huge target on his back.

They are both great to watch for different reasons. I don't care where you are from, what ya look like, what accent you have...Great riding is great riding. I think a LOT more of us are here because we love MX, not because we love to hate on riders.

It's just not as plain to see, because we don't feel the need to post that view, or agenda, in every thread - like many Haters do.
