14-18 yz250f and I have been looking at getting the fastway pegs to lower them and move them back. When I look online at BTO they are saying it can’t be set in the lower position. Anyone have these or know best way around it? I looked at the EVO 4

I have the FLO lowering pegs on my KTM. Night and day better for us tall guys! They also make them for Yamaha.

12mm lower (same as Fastway). I got mine through BTO

This question and Topic has been asked several times. I have 19 YZ450 with fastway pegs and previously on my 14 and 11 Yamaha. Yes they fit the 250 as they are the same mounts. They are at least 1/2 inch lower.

IMS makes pegs I know for my Husky that were 5mm lower and 5mm further back. Check them out could also cost less.

Yeah I’m excited to try them out. I ride over the front and hopefully this will help me stay neutral and comfy.

I ordered them for my ‘20 YZ450 and can confirm without a doubt that THEY DO NOT LOWER THE PEGS. It states it right on the package that they will not work in the lower position on the newer YZs. Don’t buy them! I actually installed them and measured (out of curiosity), and with the cleats installed they were taller than the stock pegs.

Raptor Titanium can custom make them up to 8mm down or 12mm back, but no combination of down/back, for about $300.

Flo pegs are 12mm lower on the Yamahas, too, but I’d go with the Raptors if it’s in your budget.

i asked this exact same question a month or so ago and BAD10 posted pics to show they work. I bought them and they absolutely work in the lower/back position. They also immediately made a huge difference. So much easier to stand up out of corners for me. I have a 2019 YZ250F. Thanks again BAD10.

How did you place the pegs? I can’t make them work in the lowering position.

I have a 2019 so there could be a difference in my set up than yours. Mine mounted up with no problems in the lowered position. Maybe BAD10 can help since he has used these on several model years.

@Zycki11 , did you manage to make them work in the lowered position?

Anyone has a picture from underneath, mounted in the lowered position on a yamaha?

Thanks!

What a coincidence.....I just bought a set for my kx250. I'm 6'3 and any bike I had these pages on did make a huge difference for me in the lower position, not only bec they're lower but moved back also. It helps with being more centered on the bike.

I cant wait to ride with them on.....does anyone run the 12mm cleats in the center row with 10mm on the front and rear edges? Or is it best to just run 10mm cleats all around?

It states on the package they dont work in lower position for FX/WR models, says nothing about the F model

Open up the cockpit for me. Used to feel like when I was trying to attack I’d have to cramp my back and my body would be too far forward. With the pegs down and back more it keeps my lower body more centered improving my riding style, it also allows me to use more of my legs to grip the bike. Such a good improvement I instantly forked out the money for a pair for my other bike I’m  building. Fastway was a great company to deal with when I called with some questions.

Yah they can help with moving away from the shifter and brake pedal for big footed fellers that are tall.  I did not like the lower pegs on some tracks. I had to get used to my feet being able to catch on stuff easier. I found a tall seat helped me fit better and made going from sitting to standing much easier.

A little here and there add up to a much better fitting bike. taller bar's and mounts, tall foam, lowered pegs, different shifter and brake pedal tips. They all can help a taller rider fit the bike more like it is intended to fit.  And surprisingly the 12 or15mm here and there really added up to making me feel much more comfortable. I'm 6'9" with size 16 boots. So I'm a lot taller than the average moto guy.

The biggest thing I noticed was on a rough track coming out of a berm into whoops. Going from sitting to standing was so much easier ( with the combined parts).  If You have a bicycle, You want the seat height so that Your leg is just slightly bent when the pedal is at its lowest point to the ground. It gives Your legs the most leverage and You can really see a difference if You try riding with the seat lower than it should be. You will feel like You are riding with flat tires.  Or even just sit on a lower chair, vs a taller one and see how it is to stand up. Doing it 100's of times while riding adds up. Plus on a dirt bike You have the G forces when going up hill and hitting bumps as You try to stand that adds to how much energy is needed.

I really should get off my wallet and try a set of these. I am 6’4” Multiple knee surgeries on both knees. My knees can barely bend past 90°. Sitting down on the bike with my feet on the pegs with my butt near the gas tank is impossible.

100% try some!! And if you do not have tall seat foam I would say to try it too.

Rutted tracks were the only time I did not really like the lowered pegs .  sand was ok , I did hit my feet more often . But it and the tall foam made it feel so much more my size. and after I got used to how I had to have my feet a little bit farther back, I stopped getting caught on stuff.

Tall bars and mounts, triple clamps to move them forward. Those helped too. But the foam and foot pegs made the biggest impact.  The seat made the sitting to standing more noticeable easier. But I noticed a bigger overall difference with the lowered pegs as far as overall .   Helping me have my feet in the correct place, and shifting and breaking . I tried the pegs at a race for the first time. and took them off  because they felt so different.  I put them back on after and after getting used to them loved them.

Thank you for the thread revival!  This is very helpful because I was just about to order taller handlebars.  After reading this thread I’m going to go with lowering pegs instead, sounds much more like what I am looking for.

6'4" here and lowered pegs is the first mod I do to any bike I get.  At first I was worried about catching on ruts and stuff, then one day riding a track that had pretty deep ruts I was lapped by a kid on a 65 that didn't seem to have any issues going through the ruts with wheels half the size lol.  In my old age now I only like to ride perfectly prepped tracks anyways.

I just did these for my 23 husky, 10 down and 10 back but there are all sort of options. Shipping overseas was about a week.
