Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
I like having a different format for a few races each year. They both work fine but I feel having 17 rounds the same was getting stale before triple crowns.
I wouldn't go as far as to say the 'usual' format feels stale without triple crowns, but I don't see the harm in a handful of triple crowns a year.
It's only a few and any racing beats no racing.
Why is it we cannot decide the name for each race?
Can we not just call it like MX.....Moto 1, Moto 2 and Moto 3 and add them up for O/A?
Or does somebody have a copyright on the "moto" name?
Just for discussion, what if they added a 2nd different format for 2 races a year?
For those of you who would be interested, what 2nd format would you like to see?
Two I can think of:
30 minute mains
Inverted gate pick mains
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I love the TC format but they only need a few of them to spice up the series.
seems like the the final three SMX rounds should be called the Triple Crown… get rid of these nonsensical three races a night trying to be like the european rounds.
Super Triple Clown...
In the 450 race Jett did not have to win, Kenny did not have to beat Sexton. This ruined what possibly could have been a battle. In the 250 race Macadoo got the signal that he did not need to pass Brown so that ruined the chance of that battle. Three races don’t work.
But RC is saying these are so great it’s winner take all! What a joke!
Triple Crown format should be 50% of the races but with each moto paying some small amount of points for the top 3. The regular format is very boring most of the time. As someone said, SX is a circus act to bring in spectators who are not moto regulars.
Keep the circus entertaining. Three starts does that. The intensity level of the racers is much higher.
Actually, Kenny had to stay in front of Jett and hoped Chase passed Jett, while he fought to stay out front.
Jett couldn't let Chase pass him or a third would lose 1st to Kenny, he had to stay in front of Chase.
Chase had to pass them both then hope for help to get anything better than a 3rd.
I saw great racing, and then Jett said "Ooops, Chase is getting close at Kenny's speed, so I better check out" pulled the pin and took the off. Chase kept fighting and passed Kenny, then Kenny said "keep it on two wheels and 2nd is mine."
But Moto 3 was winner take all till Jett took it.
I don't care about who wins the heat race, because it has no impact on the main event.
The only time heat races matter is when a factory-level rider has issues and is forced to the LCQ.
inverted should be what is happening in the 3rd round of triple crowns now, no idea why they don't do it.
Super hot take - standard format race, but with a big twist of single file start. Opens up floor space quite a bit and makes the heat race very important. Downside - startcross becomes even more startcross.
I liked the "VANS Triple Crown" races when it was a completely normal format for all SX rounds. They just chose 3 rounds to be considered part of the Triple Crown Series. If a rider won all 3, they were the champion and got $500K. If no one wins all 3 rounds the rider with the most points for the 3 rounds gets $25K.
The only way to make a three moto format work is pay points for each race.
Nope, but I do wish they would go back to double header weekends.....
I remember going to Pontiac for races on Saturday night and Sunday daytime.
Jett would still win 😂
absolutely love them
